So I've been taking a look at the real world section of the forums because I have nothing better to do while I am at work (no one comes to the pro shop when it's raining...) and I noticed something. I've noticed that Bulbagarden as a whole is incredibly liberal.

I'm not making a judgment on that (I consider myself in the middle of the political mess even though I did vote for Obama) but I just thought I'd point it out and see what people thought.

I'd take that with a grain of salt because there are at least a couple of flaming conservatives here.

yeah i've noticed that just about everyone on here is very liberaly and ethical and stuff

i've yet to see a flaming concervative :p

I'm in the middle when it comes to politics.

And there are a bit more people people that are liberal here then there are conservatives in the real world.

Mostly everybody here seems to be quite liberal.
Although I am more left wing myself it would be nice to have a few more flaming right wing conservatives on here so I could hear more about their reasons for their views and we could have friendly debates.

Perhaps there are more right-wing people here then you think, but they dont post since they would be argued and yelled at by lots of liberals.
just a thought.

^ *ding ding ding* Winner!

Yeah, I would have liked to have a "friendly debate" here and there, but sharing my opinion here has only amounted to me being flamed as a typical "idiot Republican", so I've pretty much stopped posing in political threads.

Liberals= love. That's why

I've noticed that also. The few flaming conservatives get their heads bitten off.

Or the conservatives simply get owned by the liberals a lot... I see more owning than yelling...

Aww. There are idiot Liberals too. There are idiot almost everythings.

Like others said, this place sems mostly liberal. Though from the recent Obama thread, maybe a little too much so....

I'm liberal as well lol. Though I do wish there were some level-headed conseravtives on this site for a debate.

well, most of the republicans I've seen are kids who are just repeating their parents views...

That's probably true, at the same time, I'm sure plenty of the liberals around here are just kids spouting out random garbage to try and sound smart. Maybe there should be an age limit on political topics.

I would be conservative if the "conservative" gov't folks would be that too. However, since they just talk out of their asses (like liberal assholes in the gov't, but I expect liberal assholes to be morally relativistic), I might as well be moderate-liberal. I'm not fond of extremism on either side.

I consider myself a conservative. However, my ideological positions are considered liberal by "conservatives", so whatever.

I'm conservative. I'm of the mind that this site needs a few more conservatives. I'm outnumbered so badly that it's impossible to address every argument at once.

Depending on the issue, I lean left on some things (gay rights), and I lean right on others (gun control, less government instead of more).

Sad, but in so many cases I feel that this is the truth.

This is also true. There are two sides to the coin.

I consider myself a conservative. However, my ideological positions are considered liberal by "conservatives", so whatever.

Isn't that funny how that works though? Some things that involve more governmental control are considered "conservative" positions (which is something that real conservatives are supposed to be against).

I find that so often that both sides (conservative and liberal) totally go against what their party is really supposed to be for, but that's just my observation.

I'm conservative in that I don't feel throwing money at something fixes it unless you had a clear and workable plan. I also respect tradition even though a lot of my positions don't seem to go along with those who say they also respect tradition. I prefer efficiency in government (take that how y'all will). I believe that facts should "rule", not half-assed whims. I would prefer local/state control over certain things. My main problem with that is they have little to no more sense than the federal government. Apparently management skills are not a requirement to be a leader. I detest that our government can vote on things without reading the words on the paper, and then have the audacity to claim they didn't have the time. Time to do what? It's their job to govern! I tried to watch CSPAN and stuff, but I quit when I realized that our government officials are being paid to not show up. The people in Washington don't really need to spend lots of time out of DC ... that's why we have local/state governments. They were hired to be our reps IN DC.

I am extremely liberal on most matters, but on others I'm a bit more conservative. I don't exclusively subscribe to the left or right wing; it depends on the matter at hand.

I have to agree about not spending when there is no plan. Tradition is something that I do have mixed feelings about though. I feel that some tradition still works for our country, but sometimes some traditions may no longer work, especially when to keep a "tradition," more laws have to be made which means more government (proposition 8 anybody?). Our government should be efficient, but unfortunately I feel that it is a bit bloated. I also agree that facts should rule, not whims, and one's feelings about something when studies and research show the opposite should not be used against the citizens of a country (i.e. marijuana laws).

States differ in their communities and how the people feel/think/live. A responsible state government is better for things that can differ from state to state, and the federal government should not interfere with that in most cases (unless it would be harmful to the rest of the country, or to large groups of citizens in the state/country).

Also, what I hate as much (if not more) than the people who don't take the time to read the bills that they vote on are the people who pile all their agendas (both liberal and conservative) into a bill that they feel will actually go through. I have to wonder how many crazy and lame things have passed just because someone added it to a popular bill.

I am for gay marriage. To me, "tradition" doesn't say much, since lots of traditions exist for various marital situations. I find the anti-side of that cherry-picking "tradition" far too much to be rational.

Our government should be efficient, but unfortunately I feel that it is a bit bloated.
Bloat is due to incompetence. Size wouldn't matter nearly as much if it were managed effectively.
