Here's my poll!

Should all moves a Pokémon could learn/have and be bred/distributed with in previous gens be available to it somehow?

Yes. Yes they should.

They are if you trade. But do you mean the 1st and 2nd Gen?

Seeing as everyone and their mother use to have Stealth Rock in their movepools, then no.

Well, I think so because otherwise it's unfair if you trade and "whoops I didn't teach that one move!" or "let's teach you this new move just make sure I don't overwNO WHY DID YOU DO THAT I DIDN'T SAVE SINCE I STARTED AAAAAA"

Though, having unique movesets available do make the pokémon from previous generations more unique... Really, what they should've done is just let you trade back to Gen IV from V where it was entirely possible and reasonable to get almost the exact pokémon you wanted, with only event exceptions.

lawl at biased opinion.

I think yes. There were many Pokemon who could learn Curse in G/s/c due to the tm like Suicune. It would be interesting to see how these mons work in today's times. It definitely wouldn't do any harm, imo.

You have to remember that some strange choices would be made available when this can be done. Lovely Kiss was an event move in Generation 2 for a select few Pokemon, like the Nidos. Admittedly, a Nidoqueen with Lovely Kiss would make a very interesting set with Toxic Spikes. Even those who learn Pay Day by TM can be a fun choice, like Fearow. However, I don't see this concept returning, because an event move that Eevee was given in Generation 2 was Growth. This move doesn't sound special, but you have to take into account that there was no Calm Mind to boost both Special Attack and Special Defence, and Growth was one reason the Eeveelutions were special. This was obsolete, of course, but I trust that the person who explained how Eevee with Growth would not be fun to face. Do note that unlike now, Growth only boosted Special Attack and doesn't have a bonus boost under the sun.

By the way, there is one Espeon in the anime that used Zap Cannon, which it can learn through Generation 2's TM, even though it can't be taught beyond that because there are no move tutors with this move.

Thanks for reading.
