Everyone should know that the Dragon-type is being split from the Colorless-type into its own type. So, what color do you think the new Dragon-type should be?

My vote is orange. I always thought orange was an appropriate color for the Dragon-type.

I'm split between orange and gold. I like the idea of orange because most dragons are associated to fire (with obvious exceptions like kingdra). However, dragons are generally mythical and majestic and gold seems like a good fit. Since we already have silver/grey for the steel type, there seems to be a balance if gold is included while orange and red may be too close depending on how the orange turns out. So, my vote is for gold with a close second for orange.

However, Gold might be too close to the yellow for Lightning.

i think a dark red, maroon color. Though, there is so little news about this, i'm not entirely convinced that it wasnt a translation error yet.
wont be gold, that would to much of a symbol of power. It would imply the dragon type being the best type.

This seems to be the right idea for an orange Dragon Energy card:

I like turquoise for Dragon, since it's pretty close to the color used in the games for Dragon-type moves. And turquoise seems majestic to me, just like dragons should appear.

Why should the TCG be modeling their colors off the games? It really should be the other way around, since the TCG has been color-coding types well before the games have.

It'd be really cool if they used that symbol for the new energy. :)
Maroon seems like the only colour that's not close to a type they already have...

But personally I'm not convinced yet that there's going to be a Dragon type more than a decade after they last introduced a new type.

The games and TCG use pretty much the same colors. Using turquoise would keep things consistent.

Not exactly. In the TCG, Fire is red, while in the games (except for the Stadium series and PMD) it is orange. Another example is Fighting, where it is brown in the TCG but red in the games (again, except for the Stadium series and PMD).

Hmm, coincidentally, I've been playing Stadium a lot lately, so that might be impairing my judgment. I get what you mean, though, about the colors not matching between the games and TCG. I just prefer turquoise, I guess.

BTW, Fighting is orange in the Stadium series and PMD, which is different from both the main games (where it is red) and the TCG (where it is brown).

I like gold. It's a mix of orange and yellow, which are already Fighting and Electric.

Fighting in the TCG seems to be more brown to me, however, I can see why some see it as orange. The orange shown in the image I posted is easily distinguishable from the Fighting color.

That's true. It really depends on the generation of the TCG, though, because I'm pretty sure after a few generations if got a lot lighter, and is now a bit darker again. And yeah, the orange you have would be fine. It'd be interesting to see how they could use gold, though.

I was sure I wanted indigo 'til I saw that orange energy car. That looks wicked!
I still like indigo, though. It's such a fancy name for a color. Hence, it must be related to dragons. (zero logic at all xD)

Bah, I'd rather have them make the Ground and Flying elements as it distinct types, just cause Ground is Earth, and Flying is Air, and we already have Fire and Water, so that would complete the 4 elements.

As for the color of Dragon, I'd prefer DARK BLUE. Like Indigo? Water type energy and the background of its card is pretty light blue in color.

The background in actual Fighting pokemon in the TCG looks pretty orange to me, so that's out of the question. Even if you said that color was brown, it is too close to orange moreso than navy blue is close to the color that Water types use.

Let me give you a comparison.

Water Energies and the background color on the Water Pokemon cards themselves is similar to this color:

It isn't noticable here, but if you own the actual sleeves, the color in those sleeves is close to the water type energy and pokemon color.

What I am guessing and suggesting is to have Dragon Type energy, and Dragon type background color of the actual Pokemon use this color:

Another good color is hot pink. Right? RIGHT?

I do hope that the Dragon type is not an official, um, how do I call it, common element, because the TCG already is starting to get way too many energy types. I am guessing it is more of a special energy type, rather than a common type like the other 8 (Colorless doesn't count, as it doesn't have its own energy card, much like Artifact isn't one of MTG's 5 colors). The reason for it is that, Dragons are supposed to be powerful and have ridiculous moves. Basically, they can't print a ridiculous move on a Dragon type just because it can use any energy to activate it, or they have to print around 5 colorless energy icons for the move, and makes it impossible to use. So my prediction for their simple solution is to create a new energy type that isn't as readily available, and whoever has this uncommon or rare special dragon energy card, can activate this ridiculous attack without having to pop in 5 energies for that one dragon pokemon. If they made Dragon an official common element like the other 8, then the game will be saturated with way too many types, and it would be impossible to make a deck using boosters alone, especially in sealed.

You know what else I'd like to see? Dual type pokemons, like they used to have in Dragon Frontiers, or Delta Species.

The orange color seems good for the Dragons, but idk if that would be the official color of the Dragon Type in the TCG.
