I personally would say that both are about equally good at taking special hits, but Porygon-Z functions a bit better at resisting physical attacks. For speed, Alakazam's easily the better choice, but Porygon-Z's better in terms of movepool.

In short:
HP: Porygon-Z
Atk (not that either will be using it): Porygon-Z
Def: Porygon-Z
Sp. Atk: Either
Sp. Def: Alakazam
Speed: Alakazam
Moves: Porygon-Z

Remember that Alakazam resists Psychic and Fighting moves due to its type. That aside, I'd go for Pory.

resists hits? What are you on about? Porigon-z and Alakazam cant take hits! Alakazam would still be knocked out even by a fighting move. They both have high sp.att and speed however so they would both make good spiecial sweepers. They both have the same sp.att but i think alakazam is faster. Its up to you who you choose.

Obviously he knows quite a bit... he said that Pory was a BIT better at resisting hits and that Alakazam had a helpful type to ward off certain attacks. He never said they should be walls but to merely think about which is better defense wise.

Yeah, but if you're asking about a special sweeper, you're not going to really consider defense. You put no EVs there and you aren't going for a defense-boosting nature. Either way you're gonna get hurt if something physical comes your way...the concept behind a special sweeper is to be faster and hit harder than anybody else.

Zam: More Speed, but less Special movepool
Pory: Nasty Plot, better ability (it can OHKO Bliss w/ Adaptability Hyper Beam =P), and more Special moves, but slow (*coughTrickRoomcough*)

Excuse me? I never said they were intended for resisting hits, I'm just saying that one's a bit better at taking attacks than the other. Plus I was looking at every aspect of each. All I said was that Porygon-Z's lasts a bit longer against physical attacks (not much longer mind - neither are particularly good physical walls. Or walls in general for that matter), which considering its stats is true. If anything, that proves I do know about Pokémon.

Yeah, suing Trick room support for him would only hinder it. I think you meant Thunderwave support. People have to stop thinking that everything that does not have 100 base speed is slow. By the way, Choice Scarf + Download solves that problem half the time.
