As most of you know (but may need reminding) 4kids had a tendency to changes things up in the Pokemon Anime for their dub, the movies and Chronicle Specials especially. I don't just mean changing (or spicing up) the dialogue during translations. I also mean changing characters like Hun from The Legend of Thunder since "she" was a "he" in the original version. Also, Attila wasn't his (or her) new partner in the original either. I can get the genderbending since 4kids might've wanted to keep with the man/woman pairing tradition in Team Rocket but the rest is sorta lost on me.

The movies also had major changes and the first movie's changes probably goes without saying.

Now I don't condone altering the story for the dub but sometimes, it can be pretty interesting how something can be different on a show in two different languages. I also wonder what'd happen if TPCi was like 4kids in how they made dub alterations.

For example, what if TPCi decided to make it seem like Georgia (Langley for you non-dub watchers) met Iris before the episode she debuts in. Like they were old rivals unlike in the original version. Some may not like it (to put it mildly) but I'd find it interesting.

For this thread, you can speculate how stuff in the dub could've been altered aside from the stuff already altered. It can be for humor purposes or something else.

For those who despise dub alterations, well, no one said you had to post here at all.
 
I wouldn't mind if they altered Iris' dialogue to make it less insulting toward Ash.

Well, there was also the voice of Saturn from Team Galactic. In the original version, he had a female voice actress - which made me greatly confused when I first heard him. Was Saturn actually female??

Then in the English dub, his voice actor was male.

I think that's more of a cultural difference, with Japan's tendency to give male characters (even if they aren't young) female voice actors sometimes. It confused me before on other anime too.

I would like it if the TCPi dub would maybe throw in some references to past series every once in awhile, even if the original Japanese script didn't. Throw in a mention of Brock, bring up May, reminisce about Paul...just something like that.
 
I'd also like it if TPCi livened up the stale dialogue so even the worst episodes in BW could be remotely enjoyable.

Ahh, who could forget that hilarious change. TPCi probably didn't think such changes were needed unlike 4kids.

TPCi could also change the Stephan/Stephen joke to something different each time.
 
Sorry for the double post.

I wish TPCi made more clever Parental Bonus jokes for Team Rocket and maybe the twerps. Give 4kids credit for giving the parents and teens something to chuckle at.

To say it's interesting would be criminally understating it.

Also, what about Iris and Lenora if TPCi were fearfully of being "racist" in the slightest? Would they be Jynx'd so to speak? Can you imagine a white Iris or Lenora? Neither can I?

Also, what jokes or puns would you've liked the dub writers to make? It can be cheesy but in a good way.
