Under Gary Oak's information, you said he got Best 64 in the Indigo League. But in Ash's profile and the series, Ash got Best 16. Gary lost at the fourth round where, if I'm correct, only 32 Trainers can compete. That would make Gary's Indigo League place Best 32, not Best 64. I could be wrong.

Hm, I wonder if this was ever explicity stated in the anime? For some reason, best 64 sounds right to me, however I don't have any of the Indigo League episodes with me, so I can't check.

If I am correct, Ash and Gary both made it to the fourth round. Ash won the round, and Gary lost that round. Also tournaments have a special style: a specific number of contestants start at the first round. Half of the starting number of contestants make it to the second round (usually). Half of that make it to the third round, etc. Gary lost at the first round, where if the style I mentioned is true, only 32 contestants made it to. Making Gary one of the 16 to lose at round four, making him one of the Best 32. Ash was one of the 8 to lose at round five, making him one of the Best 16, and Ritchie was one of the 4 to lose at round 6, making him one of the Best 8. See the pattern?
