Possible new Pokeshipping hint, or not, you decide

Is the Misty lure scene from DP 34 a Pokeshipping hint?

In the newest episode with Buizel, Ash uses the Misty lure again to catch the Pokemon with.

However Dawn impulsively tries to grab it from him, and Ash reacts harshly by trying to prevent her from taking it from him. Apparently after a struggle with Buizel, Ash picks up the lure from the ground to make sure its ok.

Is this a hint? Or are shippers blowing this out of proportion? Debate.

That's cool. :D Continuity is always nice.

As for a shipping hint, I very much doubt it. I'd imagine Ash just wants to make sure his friend's belongings don't get roughed up while in his possesion.

It's score 1+ for the writers remembering things. Hopefully they'll give us some more cameos.

I don't see anything heavily romantic about it, it's just Ash's special lure. I mean, that thing MUST cost money, right?

I think it's actually kinda cute/funny that he's using it. Didn't he make fun of/stare awkwardly at Misty when she used to bring it out? XD

I haven't watched Season 1 in ages, (I really should someday), but I remember Ash/Brock thinking Misty was wierd for losing that lure. :p

I think Misty's lure was nice for continuity's sake, but I wouldn't say its a hint.

Why wouldn't it be? I mean, it's Misty. Ash could've just used any other old lure, but he chose the Misty lure.

I think it's for continuity's sake, for nostalgia, and it's equally possible that Ash reacted harshly since it was a gift from an old friend that he'd shared a lot of huge adventures and time with.

I'm glad they've got Ash acknowledging Misty's existence without it being a plot.

Exactly how often do Ash and Co go fishing during a region anymore since she left man? Like once a region, not to mention he got the lure before this time, also Misty had some good luck with it so i can see why he used it.

Like i said in the spec thread though, all the gifts he gets that hold value to him are emphasised upon at least one time after he gets them and i bet this was the lure's time for it.

It's good for showing they haven't forgotten Misty, but i don't count it as a hint.

Why would they show a random lure when they can instead show the Misty lure he got in BF?

Maybe they wanted to remind the audience of Misty?

Ash didn't blush or make a comment about Misty or anything, nor did Dawn think it suggested anything.

In all seriousness where was there any indication that romance was involved?

I haven't seen the episode yet, but personally I don't see this as a hint (and you know I AM a Pokeshipper), but at least this shows how much Ash cares for Misty (and the special gift she gave him) even if it's not in a romantic way.

Yet they didn't indicate anything about May. Could that mean that perhaps *gasp!* May was less popular than we all thought?

In all seriousness, I really couldn't care if this was a hint or not. I just wanted to see how you react and how you justify your answers.

That doesn't matter. I'm wonder why Ash using the Misty lure is considered shippy.

No, because various polls around the fandom (especially one on SPP at the current time), showcases that May is more popular than Misty. As for why we get no references...who knows.

The writers probably thought a fishing episode would be a great place to bring up the lure, hence they did.

So, in other words, you're wondering why I don't consider a lure that Ash uses as a hint? Uh, maybe because it isn't? Maybe because neither Ash nor Dawn connected it to romance?

If it's a hint, the same logic suggests a Nevermetshipping. That not making much sense, I'd have to say it's not.

I think Ash eating ice cream is a hint for an Ash/Pryce shipping! After all, they both like cold things!

?? It's not very much a PokéShipping hint or a Dawn-being-jealous-of-Misty thing. Ash is probably cherishing it as a remembrance to Misty.

Did you perhaps think that the writers don't go to SPP? Or even that they pay attention to any polls for that matter? How do you know that the writers didn't use the Misty lure because THEY thought she was more popular?

No, I'm wondering why you're making such a big deal over nothing. Just let the Pokeshippers have their way. If you're going to whine over something like this, I'd dare say you don't have much of a life.

As much as I'd like to continue this debate, I'd like to last longer here, so I'll just find another thread that piques my interest.

Because showing a Misty lure has nothing to do with the popularities of the two girls. Japanese sites such as Pokeani and Pokesho showcase that May was widely critically acclaimed. That is not an issue.

The writers brought up the lure to show off continuity, not because "OMG, our fans like Misty more than May!" like you seem to think.

So let Pokeshippers declare whatever they like as hints? That's fine for fanon, but, LMAO, do you even know what a debate is? Or what serious canon shipping debates are for? We're here to debate things, not to say random friendship crap like Ash/Morrison is a serious ship for the anime.

If you're going to whine over something like this, I'd dare say you don't have much of a life.

Once again, do you have any idea of what a debate is? This is not for fanon ships or fanon pairings, we're debating serious ships in the anime. If you find this upsetting, then I guess you don't like to see this ship being argued against.

Pokeshipping had sizeable hints in the early seasons but dwindled to next to nothing once she left the show, so now we're trying to see if the writers still intend to go in that direction.

As much as I'd like to continue this debate, I'd like to last longer here, so I'll just find another thread that piques my interest.

You can say whatever you want as long as its in the borders of this thread. The rules here are very lax, Pokeshippers can defend this hint (if possible), but don't expect nobody to try and shoot it down.

OMG! Anime shipping is serious business!

Seriously though, I'm too tired to argue with you any more today, so I'll just go elsewhere.

Then don't debate at all, because you tend to twist things a lot. Or come back tomorrow when I haven't exhausted you.

I have still yet to wrap my mind around the comment you made about May being deformed because she was a bit more developed than a 10 year old, it's almost being borderline sexist.

On another note, I want to see what the intelligent debaters have to say about this, such as Archaic, Jo-Jo, Swifty and FabuVinny. Someone get them into this thread ASAP.
