Okay, now this sounds kind of stupid, and though i'm familier with Bulbagarden, I have no idea how to put up a picture. This will not only help me, but other members (if any) that have the same problem. Help will be greatly appreciatted.

if it's from a website, just use a bracket, [, and then IMG, then a closed bracket, ], and then type in the image code (the html found by right-clicking in properties) and then at the end use [/IMG].

Thanks, now i know how to do website pictures. Now how about paint pictures (if there is a way.), anyone. Please.

Since you asked so kindly, then I guess I'll just have to go and create an image tutorial then. ^_^

There are a number of options ready when posting an image.

First and foremost, you must have the picture ready to place on the web. This is done by hosting the picture on a server. Of course, Bulbagarden offers a bit of space for you to place a picture on these forums.

If you don't want to go through the hassle of getting a photo host it is possible to set up your picture here, although, I highly recommend them as they offer tons of space and they don't take up these forum's bandwidth [which is what helps keep this place running smoothly ~_^]

Alright.

To get your photo uploaded, go to any reply window.
Scroll down a bit and in your Additional Options look for
the Manage Attachments button.

Go ahead and click on it.
After that, you will have another window pop up with a list of supported formats that you can attach to your post. We want a picture for now, so go ahead and click on browse to search for the picture you want on your hard drive.

After choosing the picture you would like, you should now be able to see your
option listed in the window under Current Attachments.

Go ahead and click on the link. It will take you to the picture's location on the server. Now you can go ahead and copy the url at the top.

Close the window and return to the reply window. Notice that the uploaded picture is now listed under the "Attach Files" area.

Go back to your message. Do you see that little icon with the mountains in it? Well go ahead and click on that. You should get a javascript prompt asking for the url of your image.

Go ahead and paste the link from earlier into that box.

Click ok and voila, your image is ready to be displayed sans any borders or size restraints, though I'd say best keep the images much smaller than 800x600 pixels to keep the windows from stretching.

[of course I can't help the windows stretching a bit here for purposes of clear demonstration ^_^;;]

Note the image tags.

'insert url to picture here'[ /img] (remove the space between "[" and "/img]" first)

This is really really all you need to know about posting a picture in these forums. Its just getting that picture to exist on the web first that's an issue for some.

Also of note, these forums only allow the display of up to 6 images at a time regardless of their source.

But as I was encouraging before, if possible, go ahead and sign up with a free photo-hosting account like imageshack.us or photobucket. It's great to have around when you just need to show off numerous pictures rather than having to be limited to the forums.

Another thing, while people may do it, try not to hotlink pictures. Hotlinking occurs when you take the url of a picture and display it elsewhere at the expense of the host-server's bandwidth. The host may not know you are leeching on his bandwidth thus his end suffers by 'slowing down'.

Its good practice nowadays to copy a picture you want and host it yourself so you don't end up leeching bandwidth.

Its also good ethics to get permission for pictures that aren't yours if you flaunt them on personal pages.

And that should be just about all you need to know about hosting and posting pictures.
