Which do you think is better: Pocket Monsters or Magical Pokemon Journey? Plus are they both for the most part apropriate? What are some of the inapropriate ideas in them?

Assuming by Pocket Monsters you mean the Ugly Clefairy Manga, MPJ wins just by not being it.

MPJ is my favourite of the Pokemon manga series, anyway -- I like shoujo, wut.

Pocket Monsters: The jokes are annoying, the art is horrible, and most of the Pokemon are crappy-looking and made up by the author - who seems to never quite get what Pokemon is.

Well, I've read both of these series and they are both very different. Pocket Monsters is probably a manga that can be enjoyed by those who like Dragon Ball or other goofball shonen mangas, since it has that kind of humor and one of the main characters is drawn in a style similar to Akira Toriyama's. On the other hand, Magical Pokemon Journey is a very cute shoujo series filled with adorable scenarios, sweet innocent romances and Pokemon going on funny misadventures.

Personally, I like MPJ better. But I guess PM could be an interesting read for anyone who enjoys shonen stuff.

I love Pocket Monsters and don't see how anyone can hate it...it's like Pokemon meets Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo! The only reason I hear people cite for hating it is because of the art style, but are we, as fans, really THAT shallow when it comes to the manga we like?

Pocket Monsters is a lot like Pokemon + Bobobo! XD That's a good example of how to describe it.

Heh, the volume I read did have some hilarious scenes in it. Though, I still like MPJ better.

I have to say this, that Manga interests me on the sole fact is had Made-for-Manga Pokemon, and the interesting art. I'd love to read it.
