I took the Giovanni sprite from HGSS and want it to be my avatar... but i keep getting a white background.

I tried the animated GIF (with blank background) but it didn't come out right.

So i opened it in photoshop, gave it a transparent background, and just used one frame for a PNG file.

And the background comes up white, but i keep seeing other people with transparent backgrounds.

Any help on how to fix this?

Don't save it then upload it, just link directly to the file. I think it should work.

Like... link to it on photobucket? Because i've tried that... and my avatar right now is the result. D:

Both of your avatars have transparency... can you guys just walk me through how you added your own avatars? Maybe i'm doing something wrong.

If i still havent the problem, i'll contact Archaic.

Here, backspace everything in the "enter the URL for another website" option, and paste this directly into it:

I uploaded Gio's sprite to one of my albums because the site won't allow hotlinks. And ours are transparent because Shiay made them ^_^ I think she used Photoshop

Well, my sprite is transparent too, but its not coming up transparent on this site. :/

Thats the image on my photobucket that is the exact one linking to my avatar. The one you gave me keeps coming up as "Invalid File" when i try to make it my avatar DX

Hmm, this guy is problematic.
The only way I got him to transparent BG was using the image he turned into ( current avatar). Check my current avy for more details. As you can tell it's very low quality, so I really have no idea how to make it transparent with decent quality.

EDIT: Yay, after trying the same with your avatar I came with a decent result.

Use it if you'd like.
