Ladies and gentlemen, secret bases are back!
And this time, other people will actually get to see them!​

With the new stuff being put in with secret palls and such, I figured now would be a good time to start up a thread like this. After a cursory look, I didn't see any threads like this, or at least not active ones. PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS IS FOR GYM-TYPE SECRET BASES ONLY, NOT RANDOM SECRET BASES.

GYM CONSTRUCTION RULES
​

• These gyms do not have to be mono-type, however I'd recommend dual type at most.*
• Please don't have areas containing objects blocked off when marked "Complete". It's either under construction or completely finished.
• Do not block off the flag with your character, you don't get anything from being a secret buddy.
• Make sure the 'Mons mostly keep to the theme. Don't make a dick move like adding grass types to a fire gym.*
• Yes, trick pads are fun, but don't be a dick. Having your own little gimmick is fine, but recognize if you've gone too far.
  • The following rule(s) apply to secret gym recruits:
• Recruits are not to use megas.*
• Recruits must follow the theme of the gym they join.*
  • The following rule(s) apply only to Elite 4 Form
• ​Only 4 secret team members may be chosen, as opposed to 5
• If possible secret team members are to be given their own distinct area.
• ​All previous rules with *'s next to them do not apply to Elite 4 Form

GYM CHALLENGING RULES
​

• Secret buddies acting as gym trainers don't have line of sight, so them spotting you is mostly up to the honor system.
  • That being said, if there's a trainer down a corridor with only 1 way in or out, assume they're facing out of the corridor.
• Only pick up flags AFTER you've beaten the gym leader.
• If you find a way to get out of the intended gym area, try not to cheese it and stay the intended path, at least until you've beaten the gym.
• No boasting about your victories or whining about your defeats.

HELPFUL TIPS
​

• The first 3 'Mons in your party will be your team, and this is decided when you get the QR code, not during decorating. Keep this in mind.
• Though there are many duplicates, there are several different shapes the insides of secret bases can take. Keep experimenting until you find one that suits you.
• Buying 2 gym statues from the Fortree Secret Base Club will make your Gym look more like the real deal.
• Getting thematic decorations from the Fortree Secret Base Club and the Lillycove Department Store adds a nice touch.

Examples include, Lance (Salamence or Aerodactyl), Kanto E4 (Slowbro, Steelix or Gengar), Giovanni (Kangaskhan), Ethan (Tyranitar), Leaf (Venusaur), Lyra (Ampharos), Executive Archer (Houndoom) and Blue (Blastoise).
OTHER: Bonus battle against Masuda, optional and not required to challenge Red (the Champion). Trainer type is Ace Trainer.
