I use to be a huge fan
Got back into it about a year ago
Lost interest again

Might pick it up again at uni if theres a good social atmosphere for it

From the rules on what that belongs here:
4. Discussion of Professional, International or College sports (Pro Wrestling is not a sport) belong here.

So this don't belong here.

I could turn this into a flame war about whether or not this belongs here, but I won't. It is indeed a scripted sport, or a "fake" sport (but the wrestlers do sometimes get serious injuries). But it still belongs here.

I used to watch it with my dad (and sometimes my cousin & uncle) when I was younger, but then I just sorta lost interest after that. I'm not really into wrestling at all.

I still watch it. Watched it as a kid, I still remember the Monday Night Wars. Sorta fell out of watching it, but I started again back in 06-07. Favourite wrestler is Kane, glad he's the World Champ (at least for now)

I desperately try to hang on, but I can't say I'm too interested in kiddie-oriented WWE, or Pro Wrestling's Retirement Home TNA. I lived through the attitude era and the death of WCW, so I'm a picky guy ^^

I tend to focus more on puro and american indies these days.

The Attitude Era is most people's favourite era. At least those old enough to know it that is..

I find a lot of people tend to edge towards the attitude era, or hulk over to the "Golden Age of Pro Wrestling" when Sheik, Slaughter, André and Hogan were the top guys.

see what I did? Btw, who else hates Hogan with a passion? I can't be the only one ...

I don't hate Hulk Hogan, I just don't see what the big hype surrounding him was/is.

He was the biggest entertainer back in the day. He just needed to raise his hand and the crowd went nuts. But I thought the same way about it, until I heard what his demands are. When he made regular appearances in WWE, he had a contract clause that allowed him to choose his match outcomes (obviously ending with him winning).

When he worked a program with Shawn Michaels around Summerslam 2005, he won a match and did not work the second one because he was supposed to lose, citing knee issues. He also made Randy Orton do the job to him, even though Randy was rising to stardom back then.

And now, he's in TNA, and keeps bringing back old guys.

Yeah, he was great for pro wrestling back in the day, but helped ruin it as well.

I can't stand Hogan myself. He was a big draw back in the day, but that's long gone. He should have stopped trying to come back a long time ago. I didn't like when he teamed with Edge back around '02 or so, when he came back for that Summerslam against Micheals, and I really don't like him at TNA. TNA was much better off without him I feel. And Bischoff.

But, but ... Bubba the Love Sponge! The Nasty Boys! Ric Flair! Anyone else who surpassed their prime 20 years ago!

You're right. And let's be honest, TNA was going down the pooper, regardless of Hogan. Don't forget who is the head of creative writing over there. Wrestling Mathematics 101 teaches us:

Vince Russo + wrestler = impending disaster. After Russo got booted by the WWF, he's been going downhill. I'm surprised he's actually still working with Bischoff behind the scenes. Those two are mortal enemies.

With Hogan pulling strings, TNA will die. And as a reference for those who are loyal to botchamania:

*Cornette Face*

Fakk this company.

Yeah, I suppose TNA was kinda going down the pooper.. It just happened at an accelerated rate with all the oldies.

And it's kinda a shame, TNA has some awesome talent. I still can't believe they let Christopher Daniels go either =/

And damn. Lance Cade died, only aged 29 :(

It's still easy to find TNA's greatest talent. Just watch low to mid card matches. I'm personally a big fan of MCMG.

Lance Cade passing is really sad, regardless of how young he was. He was an awesome talent. It's a shame he got fired after getting such a big push. But I guess having a narcotic induced seizure on a plane ride doesn't do a man favors.

Speaking of narcotics induced. Anyone else think Jeff Hardy should just wave goodbye to wrestling and go to prison? I do, the bastard had about 5 too many chances. Now TNA is trying to take advantage of the work WWE put into his lazy behind and ultimately they'll lose (again) when he goes to prison for a long time and loses the very little credit he still has left.

I used to like the guy, regardless of him being a spot monkey. Though, being persistent in doing narcotics, risking every opportunity he undeservedly got, he lost whatever respect I had for him. That, and the fact that he never even bothered to actually step up his game when the chance was offered.

rant over.

Yeah, they still do have awesome talent, they just don't do enough with it. I agree, I love the MCMG.

And yeah, Hardy just has had too many chances. I was a fan of his, I liked when he (finally) got the world title, but he's quite simply his own worst enemy. Maybe a stint in prison might teach him. He had the fan following to make it as a huge face in WWE, but is just screwing himself. I find it ironic how the match that "put him out" of the WWE was to the Straight-Edge CM Punk.
