This has been addressed previously. According to what Archaic have said, there isn't a hack in the newest vB version to show the frontpage like it used to look like.

Except that we use vBIndex, not vBAdvanced.
We haven't yet decided if we'd like to switch over. vBIndex for vB 3.5 is due to be released shortly, so we'd like to hold off for just a bit longer, until we see what it's got.
