This is Tsutomo, the one who changed their name from GyaraZapDos today. I'm having problems maintaining my passwords because I usually put them as long so I won't be easily hacked and everytime I get logged out of the forums and then attempt to retype in my password, it doesn't work. I had it reset many times and I usually have a 1 word password on other forums, but I like editing my password here a lot. Is there any way to fix this?

How long is long? It may truncate after 16 letters or something like that.

I know for a fact that passwords up to 11 characters work.

Currently my password right now has 7 numbers in it. It was reset yesterday at the time I was posting in a thread or viewing a thread and it logged me out of the forums and said that I wasn't logged in. When I go to edit my password, I always do it through the User CP but when I try typing it in, it doesn't fit into the small box because I put an easy password for me to remember here. I only need it for the forums because I have mIRC for the chat room.

Password Advice

Perhaps in general you should consider not changing your password so often. I've had a similar password for 90% of all my internet login-sort of things for the past year and a half, I don't change a password unless I forget it (which RARELY happens, like if I throw in a random number to my usual pass).. Provided you haven't got any keyloggers on your computer and your password isn't completely obvious to anyone who knows you, is the same as your username, or is 'password' you should be quite fine. Don't create more problems for yourself by changing your passwords constantly and making them hard to remember.

Originally I tried making my password a song but since that password was so long, I couldn't log in with it so I had to keep changing it until I saw what went wrong. Sometimes they were in all caps, and sometimes they were in all lower case letters, but does the password just stop in the box after a certain amount of characters, like 10 of them or something? Oh yes. I see it beginning to truncate my passwords at 11 characters.

The password doesn't stop. My own is 22 characters long. You simply can't see all the characters in the box at once, but if you space back through them with the arrow keys, you'll see that they're there.

Now...if you actually have 7 or more numbers in the password...maybe that could be an issue. I have no idea. Most I've ever used was 6, back when I used the 24 character password.

Did you actually create a 22 character long password, and do you have the remember me box on? I don't see anyway that can fit in there since it'll always tell me that I inserted an invalid password. I even tried counting each letter or number I put in exactly the way it matches when I reset my password, but it's not working. Last time I changed my password, I used all captial letters so when I tried to log in again, I had to use all capital letters and I'm sure I used the same characters, but it said my attempt to log in failed with 4 more tries to go so I reset it to numbers again and then to something shorter again today.
