Problems with the cable link

Hello :)
I have some problems with my cable link.
Every time I put it in my game boy's, it's not working.
The 1st gameboy said "friends not ready", and the 2nd said "Cable shut down because of inactivity".
What do I do????
Hope that someone can help me :)
 
try buying pokemon stadium 2, it can trade between any two pokemon game boy games as well it doesnt have that link cable bullshit
 
Try switching the leads around, or wiggling it before you enter the rooms.
If it still goes wrong, you'll have to get a new cable! Sorry!
