Did you go to your prom/formal/whatever? Did you go to the afters? Or the pre's? What was your prom like?

In college did you go to any parties and stuff?

Pretty straightforward.

We don't have proms/formals/etc. here but we did organize a similar event of our own in our last year of high school.

It went really well in the beginning but then the power went out and it was chaos from there onwards and we left several hours before we should.

There are a few parties in university here but I avoid them because they're full of annoying people.

In my culture we celebrate 15th birthdays as a big huge thing. Even besides that, people would close an entire bar every year for their birthday, and us girls would all have to go get dresses made at the... modista. Whatever you call dressmaker in English (watch it just be "dressmaker" ww) ^<__<^;; I think I still have two of those dresses in my closet somewhere.

For prom I think they closed an entire hotel just for our prom. This was back home though. I think the one I went to in America was just in a gymnasium (although the one for the American boarding school was in the room they usually reserved for guest speakers and alumni events). (I went to two different high schools because my parents wanted me to graduate from an American high school since I was coming to America for university)

Considering we did the closing bars thing even when we were like 12 I think I'm partied out at my age, since I'm not really interested in that stuff anymore. (in other words, get off my lawn if you're not gonna mow it :p )

Never went to my prom. I had no one to go with and had personal issues. Plus, I'm not really into dancing, at all. There are better events in life for me to get to find a really pretty dress to wear. Sadly they haven't happened yet, like a decade later.

I'm also not a partier. Drinking and drugs make me uncomfortable. Very uncomfortable.

Didn't go to prom and I'm not interested in college parties because they're not my thing and just thinking about them stresses me out.

I went to my high school prom because my mom wanted me to go. It was only one night out of my life so I thought I would humor her. Prom itself was... interesting. I mean, I didn't hate it. I think I stayed for about 2 hours with friends, ate the food available, and went back home afterwards. Not exactly a magical night, but hey, I had fun with my friends.

Parties... I'm not much of a party animal. I've been to one college party and it was as cringeworthy as you'd expect it to be. One of my friends got so drunk that she had to spend the night at my house. I never went to another party after that.

Well I went to my prom after we had a party. I was so tipsy when I was at prom. It was a great night. We danced, we partied, we ate. Then we went to another party at a hotel. Then went clubbing and then we ended up at a casino. I won like $200 and then I ended up 3 am eating a kebab and I got home next day around lunch time.

Great night.

Fond memories. One of the best nights of my high school life.

College parties I always went. It was fun especially cause they were themed and cheap drinks. We had so much fun. Because we aren't getting nights like that in the future. When you work full time. You don't get the time to enjoy so many fun stuff back in high school and college. Good times.

Oooh I remember prom! I was a little nervous to go because I am a pretty shy. I dressed for the occasion and wore a blue v-neck maxi dress to prom, and I wore my hair in a loose side braid. I put a lot of effort into my look that day, and I danced at the prom with my soon to be at the time bf. It was interesting, even though I don't think I can dance very well. xD

Food was delicious, and I ate so much I probably gained a pound that day. I am not much of a party person though, so I did get sort of bored after a while but it wasn't bad. :)

Didn't go to my prom. Didn't have a group of friends to go with and I just dislike parties.

Never went to any parties for the short while I attended college. Not a big drinker and that was the main theme of 99.9% of the ones I was invited to. -_-

Didn't go to prom because it was too expensive and most of my friends in school decided not to go also. Instead, what we did is spend the evening together, went to a restaurant for dinner at a place that's more expensive than usual and then to play pool.

It was actually a lot of fun, the food was wonderful and I got to spend time with my friends.

As for college parties, I'm not a fan of them in my school, primarily because the parties at my school tend turn to people getting high and I'm not the person who does that. Plus, I fairly introverted and don't follow the party crows.

I went to my prom, it was pretty boring tbh. Of course I'm not really the party type and I'm really awkward at dancing so I pretty much just sat at one of the tables and ate the food provided. I only danced once with a guy I liked at the prom but he then just blew me off for other girls, oh well. At least the pasta and desserts were pretty good!

I went to my prom. It could have been better, but it is what it is. I actually had more fun at the military ball I went to a couple of weeks prior. Same girl.

i went to prom. it wasn't very fun. three or four hours in a tuxedo without a date, spent another half-hour looking for my ride and my phone died too so i was alone at 1:30 at night for a bit and got kind of nervous because i live like six or seven miles away from where i was going, so walking wasn't feasible.

college parties can be fun if you're in the mood for them. good for drinks and sometimes if you want you can smoke, there's usually good company there too. the real negative is that you have to be in a building (best-case) or room (worst-case) with a bunch of mostly sweaty, mostly drunk people. getting away can be difficult too -- you can't really dip after downing a shot of vodka and spending five minutes there, especially if it's a small thing.

i'm introverted but pretty social, too, so i don't mind going to things but it can be draining. it's just kind of something you have to be in the mood for.

I went to prom and homecoming with a few girl friends. Mostly we just got decked out in gorgeous gowns and jewelry and hung out with our like-dressed friends, talking and eating a ton of sugary snacks, or hovering by the chocolate and soda fountains. More people preferred dancing during the fast, fun songs than any of the slow ones - I remember seeing a lot of people taking snack breaks then.

Prom was more fun than homecoming. The decor was better, the photography was better, everyone was dressed better, the food was better...homecoming was just a slightly-bigger school dance, so prom was a lot of fun.

If we're talking about dresses, I remember I wore a midnight blue dress with sparkles and shimmers, and my mom had attached a transparent wrap with a starry pattern to the back to keep me warm/glamorous. I'd gone to the hair salon earlier and had gotten my hair done in a curly updo, and added a tiara, and my godmother (a make-up artist) did my face.
My friends all took a few seconds to recognize me, they were so used to seeing me with my glasses and ponytail and sweaters. I felt like Cinderella that night. :)
