I think Sony predicted that they'd have 11 M sold by the end of this fiscal year (which is March) so that seems more or less accurate.
PS3 also outsold X360 in the US for the first time ever last month, and continued to do so during the last few weeks.
- Here are the console hardware sales for January 2008 in US, the sales of PS3 has significantly increased after Warner Bros. and other publishers went Blu-ray exclusive.
1. Wii - 275,000
2. PS3 - 269,000
3. PS2 - 264,000
4. NDS - 251,000
5. PSP - 230,000
6. X360 - 230,000
Worldwide sales also looked good for last month.
Wii was on top, but not by much. X360 on bottom most likely due to Japan and Europe sales.
I guess it's starting to gain some more speed now with Blu-Ray being the winner of the format war, and DMC4.
Good to see PS3 finally hit that milestone.
