Yo, okay, if you've noticed, I've been a lot less active recently. I posted a quick "i won't be as active for awhile" note in the MOD forum, but this is really something I realized I need to share with the whole board, and it has a sort of moral message in it, which is why I called this a public service announcement.
My uncle died Wednedsay night--he committed suicide. None of my family members saw it coming; we were all absolutely floored. But we're working to get over all of that stuff--it's a hard, slow process, but it does work. It'll be quite some time before I'm active here again; I've been at my aunt's/cousin's for almost every waking hour that I'm not at work or school.
The public-service part comes in saying that if you've got someone who's always a little bit down or otherwise...kind of depressed, even if it doesn't seem serious, make sure they get help. Because this doesn't need to happen to any other families. There shouldn't be any more 47-year-old widows with kids aged 9 and 13 who lose their dad because he couldn't take it anymore. So I'm sort of tasking everyone here with keeping an eye out, and being vigilant. Just be supportive of your friends and family and help them work through their probelms--don't leave them hung out to dry, on their own. That's not good, it's not safe.
God bless.
