Hello. I'm having trouble with push notifications not appearing. They were working fine just yesterday but now no notifications come up whenever something like a conversation response, alert, or whatnot comes in. When trying to ensure that they're enabled it says whenever I push the button "Push alerts not compatible" or something like that. Why did this happen all of a sudden? I'm still using the same desktop as before since I lack a smartphone or laptop. The only thing I can think of that might've caused it is that Google Chrome went through an upgrade last night. Could Chrome going through that upgrade be the reason why push notifications aren't working for me now? I've checked all my other settings, both on the computer and the internet and everything seems fine, but I'm not getting push notifications anymore. Can someone tell me what happened and how to fix it? Thanks in advance.

Hmmmm... the possibility it's because of the Chrome upgrade is not zero. The push notifications are already finnicky and don't work when you log out of a device, so it might be a similar case here.

Try disabling then reenabling the push notifications if you haven't already. And then we can go from there!

Already tried that. Multiple times, for that matter. Still nothing.

i don't mean to leave this hanging or anything - but this doesn't look like anything on our end that's either broken or gone wrong somehow. most i can probably suggest is that you're on the right path and this is probably a browser-specific thing. perhaps to confirm the theory, switch to another browser, log into that one and see if you get push notifications that way? at least you'll know for certain or not if it's definitely chrome

Sorry for not responding in a long time. Losing my computer for nearly 2 weeks after it suddenly died will do that.

Anyway, I have confirmed that it's a browser-specific thing. I enabled push notifications on my phone as a test and those came in just fine. So it's clearly something to do with Chrome's latest update or something. Hopefully a new update to either the forums or Chrome will fix that since prior to that update the push notifications were working just fine.
