Question about event/legendary pokemon

new to the forums so please dont kill me for repeating an old thread i did look!

due to being a tad nosey on youtube as most are i came across the arceus event videos then found out you cant get it without cheating at the moment which then lead me to thinking what about the old pokemon from events such as shaymin and darkrai

basically what im asking is i take it you can only get these from kind souls in trades for hg/ss?
