Question about Ritchie

I recently saw on TV Tropes that Ritchie was included due to meddling from the anime's staff. Does anyone know if that's true, and where that info can be found?

Never heard that myself, to be honest. Remember, TV tropes can be edited by anyone, so I wouldn't believe anything you see there unless it is corroborated by other sources.

This anime has been going on for about two decades now, it's reasonable to expect some design similarities between two characters.
