I remember years back when my friend purchased the Japanese version of the first Pokemon movie on VHS. We were overjoyed at the fact that the film was extended by about 10 to 15 minutes. However last year I purchased the Pikachu the Movie Box 98-'02 movie set and when I popped in the first movie, the first scene from the previously mentioned VHS was nowhere to be found.

In the VHS version, the first scene showed one of those "World of Pokemon" intros that they do in all of the movies. Clips from this intro were used in the intros for some of the later movies. There was a scene right afterwards that shows a retelling of how Satoshi (Ash) got Pikachu. A clip from this scene is used in the Lucario movie during the campfire scene. Right after that scene is where my version of the DVD begins where the they show the origin of Mewtwo.

So my question is, does anyone know if there is a version of the first movie on DVD that includes these scenes? Or is it possible that these scenes are on the Pikachu the Movie Box as extra features and I just didn't see them?

Pokeani says VHS only.

Thanks. I suspected that might be the case. Maybe you can answer another question for me. Since you can apparently read Japanese, do you think you could tell me if this is the title of the that particular version of the movie, because I think I found it on a website but I can't read the title.

ポケットモンスター「ミュウツーの逆襲 完全版」【劇場版】

POKETTO MONSUTAA "MYUUTSUU no gyakushuu kanzenban" (gekijouban)

Pocket Monsters "Mewtwo's Counterattack Complete Version" (movie)

Yeah, that's the one.
