Is it really ''impossible'' to transfer any Pokemon from Red/Blue/Yellow/Gold/Silver onto Diamond/Pearl? If so, how in the world do I ''catch 'em all''?

You should be able to get at least most of them from transferring Pokemon from R/S/E and FR/LG. I'm not sure though.

So, is it possible to transfer my lv.100 Feraligatr onto my Diamond? If so, how?

He's talking about transfering from Gold, which is impossible.

Gen. 1 and 2 games can't transfer to 3 and 4.

However, you can catch all pokemon in 3 and 4, becouse of that issue.

Don't even try to catch 'em all unless you're playing Generation I. Otherwise, you're wasting valuable time you could be living.

Wait, can the Gameboy color transfer to the GBA? If so, then I might go buy myself one so I can transfer to the DS.

Maybe this will be clearer.

2 categories.

category 1:
green
red
blue
yellow
silver
gold
crystal

category 2.
Ruby
Sapphire
Emerald
Leaf green
Fire red
Colosseum
Pokemon XD
Diamond
Pearl

Category 1 and 2 cannot trade with each other.

If you want to catch them all in DP this is what you need.
All the games in category 2 only or a friend who owns those games in category 2 or online and trade through forums.

Johto Pokemon were caught in Emerald, leaf green and Fire red, XD and Colosseum.

Kanto Pokemon were caught in leaf green, fire red because those were remakes that were made due to the no compatibility with red and blue.

So hopefully this is a little clearer to you.
Hope this doesn't confuse you.^-^;;;;;

Anyway gamecube games XD and Colosseum gave you the beginners of Johto and Ho Oh and lugia plus the 3 running beats plus many more johto Pokemon. Though you need a GBA to connect to those.

Pokemon Emerald also gave access to Johto Pokemon but to get the 3 beginner Johto Pokemon you needed GBA to trade between another GBA and Ruby and Sapphire since you needed a full Hoenn dex.

Leaf green fire red had Johto Pokemon on the sevi islands. It also had the running around Johto beasts.

Alot of Johto Pokemon can be caught in DP through GBA games connecting.

If your feraligatr is in GSC then it's stuck there.

If you want a feraligatr your going to have to get a new one in the GBA games (either from Emerald or Colosseum and XD) and train it. There is online for DP but I am not sure whether you have access to go online with DP.

Wow, thanks a lot for the insightful answer. I understand now. I'm just disappointed that my 30000 hours on category 1 games are obsolete and nontransferable. They ought to make a transfer kiosk or something of the like.
