Hey, I'm trying to build my first Rain Dance Team and I was wondering if anyone could give some constructive criticism! It would be appreciated! Anyway, here's the team:

Politoed
Nature:Calm
Ability:Drizzle
Item:Damp Rock
EV's: 252Hp, 252SpA, 4Sp.D
-Toxic
-Scald
-Ice Beam
-Psychic

Politoed was an easy choice. I've seen him used multiple times on rain dance teams because of his Hidden Ability Drizzle. I struggled as to whether or not I wanted him to be more bulky or offensive, but I ultimately chose him to be offensive, but that could definitely change. I chose to give him no speed EV's because base 70 speed doesn't seem like he would be out-speeding a lot of pokemon, so I opted for the boost in Hp. Scald recieves STAB and a bonus from the Rain, plus a chance to burn and cripple offensive pokemon, Ice Beam and Psychic for coverage, and Toxic to cripple.

Blastoise:
Nature:Bold
Ability:Rain Dish
Item:??? Maybe a Berry
EV's: 252Hp, 252Def, 4SpA
-Rapid Spin
-Aura Sphere
-Avalanche
-Aqua Ring

Blastoise not only is, but also looks like a tank. I initially wanted someone with Rapid Spin but I also have a Defog user (Scizor). I'm also not too sure about Blastoise's moveset. I opted for avalanche over ice beam, since I doubt I'll be landing most of my hits first. This is probably the guy that I need most of the advice for, as I'm stuck and don't know how to properly utilize him on this team. Rapid Spin for entry hazards, Aura Sphere and Avalanche for coverage, and Aqua Ring to help Blastoise stay on the field.

Scizor
Nature:Impish
Ability:Technician
Item:Leftovers
EV's: 252Hp, 4Atk, 252Def
-Swords Dance
-Bullet Punch
-Roost
-Defog

Scizor is a good 4x weakness to grass types and is also another one of my physical tanks. With rain up, fire is only a 2x weakness. I again am questioning whether it makes sense to have both a Rapid Spinner and A Defog user? Otherwise, this setup is pretty obvious. Swords Dance when given the chance, Bullet Punch for priority and STAB, Roost and Leftovers to keep him on the field, and Defog for entry hazards/screens.

Ludicolo
Nature:Calm
Ability:Rain Dish
Item:Miracle Seed
EV's: 252Hp, 252Def, 4Sp.A
-Leech Seed
-Giga Drain
-Ice Beam
-Rain Dance

I like the idea with a ludicolo in a rain dance team, in case I encounter any pesky water types. The reasoning for the EV's in Defense are because I am worried about Ludicolo encountering a flying type move, which a lot tend to be physical, and I think he has high enough Special Defense to take a hit or two. Ludicolo takes on the role of a mixed tank with this set, although I'm not sure how much the EV's in Defense are really going to help. Otherwise, a standard set for Ludicolo. Leech Seed and Giga Drain to recover HP and STAB plus Miracle Seed, Ice Beam for coverage, and Rain Dance.

Goodra
Nature: Calm
Ability: Hydration
Item:??? Life Orb/Rocky Helmet
EV's: 252Hp, 252Def, 4Sp.A
-Rest
-Rain Dance
-Thunder
-Sludge Wave

Rest and Hydration on a Rain Dance Team just Sounds like a good idea for such a bulky Dragon type. Thunder never misses, Sludge Wave for Fairy types. Again, I think Goodra has insane Special Defense, so I think people will try to pick on his weaker Defense, hence the EV placement.

Swampert
Nature: Adamant
Ability:Torrent-->Swift Swim
Item: Swampertite
EV's: 104Hp, 252Atk, 152Spe
-Earthquake
-Ice Punch
-Waterfall
-?? Rain Dance??

My Mega, Swampert. Swift Swim for the doubling of his speed in the rain. The Ev's make sure he hits hard, outspeeds most pokemon in the rain, and has a good amount of bulk. EQ gets STAB, Waterfall gets STAB and the bonus from Rain, Ice Punch for coverage, and I don't know what to put for his fourth slot. I was thinking maybe Hammer Arm, Brick Break, Protect, or Substitute? I'm not sure...

Anyway guys, this is my first attempt at a Rain Dance Team, so all advice is welcome, and thanks in advance!

At a glance the team leans a little too much on defense and not enough on offense, as most of your sets opt for bulkiness over attack EVs. Without hazards to help you and having to play against a clock because of rain it might help to bring in some Pokemon for attacking. Examples that come to mind are Kingdra and Kabutops (Swift Swim) or Toxicroak, whose Dry Skin helps it out in the rain while providing some variety in your types.

Blastoise does feel a bit clunky here so I'd lean towards replacing it with an attacker. I'm not quite feeling Swords Dance on Scizor as it takes away a turn from rain, you can try out U-Turn for some added utility as usually that'll give you a switch after the opponent has attacked. I prefer Scald over Ice Beam on Ludicolo because of the burn chance...though it will get completely walled by Grass types, you probably wouldn't want to be keeping Ludicolo in that matchup anyway.

As for Swampert's last move I'd suggest trying out Superpower. The stat decrease might be off-putting but a switch can reset M-Swampert's stats back to normal and give you an opening to set up rain again. Protect might be another alternative if you worry about Swampert getting outsped and KO'd on the turn that it Mega Evolves. Hope this helps, best of luck!
