You gotta love Paint Shop Pro, especially when you get really good at it... or when you aren't a total n00b to it (I fall into the latter. ^^;. These really aren't meant to be desktop BGs, since they're only 640x480, and who really uses that res now anyway? Oh well, less of me chatting, more posting of images.

Obsession
I think I'm on a roll tonight. This latest one is very pastel (textured white layer, 60% transparency), and it goes nicely with how the image looks. The bottom most layer took only a few moments to make, mostly sampling colour from Aura's hair, making dots with the airbrush, and then adding a heavy glass-mosaic filter. Go simple innovations, w00.

Midnight Blue
Nothing extensive. Take a pic of the moon, size it down, add a layer of blue, adjust transparency, and toss in a bit of text. Voila, instant BG for like, 5 minutes of work. Simplicity works best people, trust me.


Infinite Prayer
First and foremost, I have to say that "LED is your freaking god." That out of the way...

The inspiration for this BG came from the overall sound of the song. Infinite Prayer has this very jungled out feel to it (if you know the song, you understand what I mean. If you haven't go get this song!). The effect seen on the text is a small trick I came up with a while ago. The effect is merely two identical lines of text, offset from one another, with the orange filter inbetween the two.


Infinite Prayer -Another-
This one I like, ALOT. Unlike the original Infinite Prayer, the -Another- version more of a psych. Trance song. Hense, the very trippy and spirital look of the BG. Sunburst added for extra effect.


La Vie en Rose
Ah, Two-Mix. Where would I be without you?
Probably off listening to mainstream music (*shudder*), but that's besides the point.

Way cool backgrounds! My faves are the Infinite prayer- another, La vie en Rose and Obsession. The effects on them are excellent. Two thumbs up!

heh, thanks. Though, it's suprising how all these effects aren't all that big and complex, but they just look so dang cool.

Anyhow, I changed file-hosts, and I have some new bits of art ready. And since I think that this thread could get rather lenghty, I'm going to do what I did over in fan-fic with my work. I'll still post new works in replies as I've done before, but the first thread will have a list of what I've made so far, just for easy access (I know people don't like digging through pages for a certain something.)

I'm obsessed with blue, as you can see. ^^;; And the font file I used never had the ' character, so I had to use the " instead. Looked fine when it was small, though, it still works.

LED Light - Hyper Boundry Gate: Background - Banner
winAMP. The source for endless base images. Seriously, it is. The Advance visualiztion studio, something I never used until now, can provide a wide variety of images through it's plug-ins. Take this one for example. It's basically a direct cap from the plug-in. Add some text, and you have a mind-blowing BG.

Okui Masami - Jama wa Sasenai: Background - Banner
Hehe. Slayers has always been a personal fave anime of mine, so when I saw this pic, I was like "Wow. I can do things with this." And so I did. The title of the song, "Jama wa Sasenai" translates out into "Don't Disturb Me," and seeing as who Lina looks very much deep in thought, the text plays nicely off that fact.

Suzy Lazy - Love Generation: Background - Banner
winAMP strikes again! An improvement over the old look of this BG, ie a better placement of the text, and the psuedo-3D look with the staggered layering of the text.

Hayashibara Megumi - Lively Motion: Background - Banner
Gasp! Something made *entirely* from scratch. Not one single source, or anything. The motion blur on the text didn't come out as I wanted it to, but hey, still looks good.

Okui Masami - Rinbu-Revolution: Background - Banner
Gotta love that Shakira's Eye plug-in. Half a dozen filters later, and this comes out. w00t. And what about the text? Moderately blurred dialogue from the series, Shoujo Kakumei Utena. "They way for you has been prepared... ...you have no choice but to... ...bring the world Revolution." Revolutionary indeed.
