RULE ONE: Double Posts -> Double Trouble
And that’s one kind of trouble we like to avoid. Yes, even with 'random' in the thread name, double posting is a no-go. If you forgot to add something to your post, you can use the [EDIT] button to add it, rather than making an entirely new post. The Multi-quote function can be used to quote more than one post in a reply.

What differentiates this thread from the chat thread found in Outside the Box is the opportunity to post non-sequiturs, to be random. There is more leniency; you can expect quicker topic swaps, posts that are not serious discussions. However, the title is a bit misleading. It's not entirely random, as a certain level of order needs to be kept.
Small phrases of other languages or 'jibberish' are fine, as long as they do not make up the entire conversation. Likewise, conversations consisting only of videos, links, memes, images, and smilies/emoticons will not be allowed. A staff member can step in and ask you to stop such conversations if they judge that it's getting out of hand.
RULE THREE: Save the drama for your llama
Unless it’s the discussion of a television drama or theater class. Those have the potential to generate a good discussion.
The drama we do not want here is the kind that brings down the mood. We understand that disagreements may arise between users. However, we ask that those matters be left outside of the thread.
RULE FOUR: I Solemnly Swear that I am Up to no Good
In general, swearing is not frowned upon here. The exception to this general stance is when the swearing is directed at a fellow BMGf member. Verbal abuse and sexual harassment will not be tolerated.
What is viewed as an acceptable swear for one may be taken as a jab by another. If you are ever uncomfortable with a post, please click the [Report] button (located on the bottom left corner of the post) and kindly give us an explanation for why the message in question is a concern to you. The staff can then look it over and a solution can be reached.
RULE FIVE: Class and SASS
We have a surplus of both here.
For those who are unfamiliar with the F&G brand of SASS, it is an acronym that stands for the following:
S: Smileys
A: Asterisks
S: Spelling
S: Sarcasm
A: Asterisks
S: Spelling
S: Sarcasm
It is very useful in decoding the seriousness of a message. Let’s put it to the test, shall we? Take the following post:

When one is talking with another person face-to-face, various clues are given as to the meaning of the words exchanged between the two parties. Facial expressions, actions, and the tone of voice are all indicators of how a person is feeling.
When communicating on an internet forum, you lose out on all of these visual and verbal clues. So in order to get the true meaning of our message across, let’s apply a little bit of SASS.

Yeah yeah, we know, clichéd, but it's a tried and true rule. This place is as fun as you make it. Let's give this thread its own unique flair, instead of lamenting on things that may not have carried over from previous incarnations.
