I just thought I would share this because it might be something of interest to you guys.

I've been tooling around with PHP/MySQL lately and came up with a little script that generates random Pokemon. It comes with a couple result modifiers such as: the number of Pokemon to generate, the type (will search either primary or secondary types), exclude/include legendary Pokemon, and limit the results to final evolutions only.

I was hoping to get this out to a few people so I can get feedback and suggestions (as well as bug reports)

I've also been wondering if I should add more information to the results. Is there any extra information you guys would want displayed?

Well, its great. I mean its totally cool.

But since you wanted a few Ideas, maybe you could include stats and (maybe)move options for the pokemon as well? By providing a link to a spcl stats page when you click on the image, I mean? I know its a huge task, but you could work on it.

Make a 1 in 8192 chance that any pokemon you randomize is shiny.

I was certainly toying with this idea. I'd probably setup a link to Veekun or something instead of creating my own stat pages.

Though, I could create a seperate Pokemon site and link the two together...

Took your idea, it's now implemented! I also added a little counter that increases with each shiny Pokemon encounter.

Anyone gotten six so far?

Also, why not add each of different forms (except spinda) as separate pokemon? so when you get unown, it can be any of the unown types.

I like the suggestion, but I'm not sure why anyone would want to see the different forms. As of right now this tool is just a jumping off point for team building, haha. I'm sure if someone got an Unown or a Wormadam they could determine which one works for them :lol:

Great Idea! When I was doing Pokémon of the week on an old site of mine, I had to go to an rng, than find out what Pokémon it is and if nessicary, make it an evovled form. THANK YOU!!!

Well, I wanted a BPer for my team, and I couldn't decide. All would work fine. You, sir, cleared my problem.
Results: Ninjask, Gible, Kabby, Smeargle, Dodrio, Jolteon.
Went with Smeargle ;D
