What do you think of them? I've played both of them and I like shadows of almia better. I'll probably get tracks of light when it comes out. So tell me forum, what do you think of the ranger games? (lol RWJ)

The first pokemon game I ever played was the original ranger game, so that makes me partial to them XD Those games got me into pokemon, so obviously I really like them....lol ^^

I actually like the Ranger games. Mainly because of the way the Pokemon have to be captured.

The Ranger games are okay. I like them a lot, don't get me wrong, but if there's anything I won't recommend them for is that there is almost no replay value, not unless you can really get into it. In the second one, it's slightly better since you can go back and see if you can get a better score on the pokes you didn't do so well on before. I replayed Ranger 2 dozens of times myself. It does eventually get tiring, though. I would recommend it, however, for it's distinct look and the more involved storyline. Despite the seeming simplicity of the gameplay, it is actually quite challenging, especially if you try the original Ranger. Ranger 2 is almost painfully easy, but not too much so. There are a lot of things that will cause you problems, especially if you attempt to S rank everything. I will await Ranger 3's release here, I'm eager to try those Ranger Signs, and to see just how difficult those past challenges are. Maybe even to see how the new assists work, as reportedly all the pokes do something different.

I for one like them alot. They are entertaining games that have a good story and great graphics. I only own Ranger 2 but I've played both versions and am really looking forward to tracks of light. I think that Ranger 2 was a fun game, and it gave a lot of entertainment value. If you haven't tried either game and are on this forum you are really missing out on alot. Plus, the origional game can be found for cheap used in Gamestops now.

As far as spinoffs go, Pokémon Ranger is without a doubt my favourite. They're just simply fun, which I cannot say the same for the Mystery Dungeon series, or the highly overrated [probably due to the, "Time makes everything great"] Pokémon Snap.

I've never played one (pretty much a main gamer) but they look interesting.

Its got great graphics and stuff. And the pokes you can send to D/P/Pt are pretty good. But the pokemon-catching-spinning-thing is kinda wierd IMO.

I actually have more fun with the Ranger games than I do with the main series games. The main series games can be fun and all, but I just like the Ranger games a lot better.

I loved them, though I've only played SoA. I find them a humorous bunch of spinoffs, and also a great way to show that Pokemon and people are more than just battling partners.

Well, I enjoy these more than Mystery Dungeon games, since I'm able to beat the game and finish up the side missions in Ranger, unlike Mystery Dungeon where after getting the first The End, I stop playing. Even though I just mostly play them for the free Pokemon, that's about it. I still find the gameplay to be unique and a good way to take advantage of the touch screen.

I honestly adore the Ranger games and I really think people don't give them enough of a chance.
This and this.

The Ranger games have great storylines, great graphics, and fun characters (not to mention awesome music). I, for one, love them and I can't wait for ToL to come out in English.

I think what pisses me off the most is that some people say "All you do is draw loops around the Pokemon, how can that be fun?" and never actually play the games. Seriously, how can you judge the fun factor of a game you've never played?? I just don't get it. =/
