OOC: So this is the startup. Yeah. Students will be on the boat headed to the school, teachers will be gathered in the main stadium preparing for the first years.
IC:
The sun was shining and it was a warm, gorgeous day at Hoenn's ranger school. Some of the upperclassmen had already arrived and in fact many of them had already been given various assignments and tasks all over the world so the islands were mostly quiet.
The permanent professors, along with some of the guest rangers who would be giving lectures and lessons from time to time, were assembled in a large open air meeting hall where the first years would soon be arriving. The head ranger in charge of the academy, a large muscular man by the name of Larmond, looked out at the empty chairs in front of him. He was waiting for the students, as well as two of the professors, who were to arrive any moment.
"I'm actually a little surprised you are doing this." Ranger Jack Walker, dressed in his uniform was walking with one of the other professors. However unlike most of the faculty, the other man was not a ranger. He was instead wearing a white dress shirt with the sleeves rolled up, a light gray waistcoat and a pair of black slacks. A large diamond watch accentuated the look.
"I'm a man of my word Jackie." James Dalton told his friend and now fellow faculty member with an easy going smile. The two of them had been friends since childhood, having grown up together in Lilycove.
"Of course you are James." Jack said with a smile, running a hand through his light blond hair. "We are happy you're teaching. It's not often the Rangers have a battler with your pedigree teaching classes." He said quietly as they both reached the hall. They walked up to the other professors, who were quietly chatting among themselves.
"After all this time you're still running late." The head ranger, a powerfully built man with chocolate brown skin and a shaved head said to Jack before a booming laugh escaped his lips. "And James Dalton, it's nice to meet you in person." James smiled and took the head ranger's offered hand. "Victor Larmond, head ranger and the headmaster of this academy."
"Pleasure." James replied.
"And the rest of your coworkers. Miss Daphne Rose, Mr. Kuro Wolf, Ms. Luna Galaxia, Mr. Alex Damon and Ms. Cressida Rei." Victor introduced the rest of the faculty in turn and James greeted them with a wave and a smile.

The first year students all found themselves on a large ferry, which was approaching the islands that held the academy and all of the buildings, fields and other features which made the school the premier breeding ground for Rangers. The students, if they were on the upper deck of the vessel (and cared to look) could see the large harbor as well as a few of the larger buildings (as well as the various training fields).
Sitting on the top deck of the boat, a young woman was reading a book, a pair of headphones covering her ears.
On the other side of the deck, a young man was napping, catching up on some sleep before they got to the academy.
