Let's get this started!

On the archipelago that housed Hoenn's Ranger Academy, the sun was shining bright. It was a perfect day to be outside and Head Ranger Larmond enjoyed the fact that they could have the introduction ceremonies outside in the school's main stadium. While they were rangers, they still did host battle exhibitions, so the school housed a stadium that was large and luxurious enough to host League Championship matches should the need ever arise. Victor looked at his fellow faculty, brushing a small bead of sweat off of his dark skin.

"The first year students will be here in a few minutes and I wanted to talk to you all before they arrived." He said loudly, his voice booming even without the effect of the small microphone clipped to his lapel. "Many of you have never taught before, or at least have never taught rangers before... and I want all of you to know that I have the utmost faith in each and every one of you. This school trains the best of the best to be rangers and each of you was hired in your field of specialty for that exact reason." Larmond explained. "I am ecstatic to have all of you on board and look forward to seeing what each of you can bring to the table.

"Is he always like this?" James Dalton muttered into the ear of Jack Walker, his close friend growing up. The two couldn't be dressed more differently, Walker in his casual ranger attire and Dalton wearing a bespoke three-piece charcoal suit with a black tie.

"Always. Get used to it." Jack muttered as a reply. "Serves you right after all." James retort was muttered under his breath, something that wouldn't be repeated in present company and certainly not in front of the students.

"Attention! We will be arriving shortly! Please be ready to disembark in the next few minutes!" The voice came over the intercom on the ferry that was carrying all the first year students to the school.

"Jonny. Wake up time." Mikey leaned over and kicked his friend gently. Jonny had been sleeping, taking advantage of the bright sun to get a nap in before they got to the academy.

"Already... it seems like it's only been an hour since we left..." Jonny was still groggy as he sat up, taking in the sights. The water was crystal clear and they could see the massive islands that housed the school. It was a magnificent sight, no expense had been spared. Towering dorms, expansive fields, massive simulation and training areas... this was the place to learn how to be a ranger.

"Just over an hour and a half." Mikey corrected him, checking his watch to make sure his estimation was precise.

OOC: teachers, you're at the stadium. Students you're on the boat. Feel free to mingle, the students will be led to the stadium after a bit of that.

Myran looked over the side of the boat trying to see where they were headed. "I hope that place has some good food," it was a random comment, yes. But he hadn't had breakfast this morning as he almost missed the boat. "Come on, move faster, dammit..."

Cress simply glanced to the side, eagerly awaiting the students' arrival. The tall ranger crossed her arms, directing her gaze to the head ranger once more.

Jazi yawned, jumping to her feet. A Charizard loomed above her, letting out a burst of flame overhead. She turned, rubbing the fire-type's beige stomach. The dragon, in response, grumbled.

"Oh, please. I'm sure you'll be fine, buddy." The first-year smirked.

Lester was just meditating in the boat, he thought about what the elders said to him when he was young. Although he was concentrating he couldn't help break it and screamed in joy "I'm finally here" as he jumped up.

Roberta lazily crossed her arms, only choosing to pay attention to the man every once and a while. She was somewhat dreading the upcoming year; new students and peers were going take note of her "laid back" teaching style. She promised herself there would be more effort made in the upcoming year, but even she knew that would be broken somehow. Nothing beat being on the move as a ranger; teaching wasn't all that thrilling. With a sigh, Roberta began twirling a single strand of hair.

Winnie, unlike Roberta, was extremely excited about her upcoming school days. There was so much to learn, and she couldn't wait. Tapping her fingers against the railing of the boat, Winnie stared out at the water in front of her, smiling wide at the opportunities ahead.

Maisy and Growlithe stared out at the approaching island, her hair and hat waving around slightly with the wind as she stood against the rails in her blue and red squared plaid shirt and waist lenght denim shorts. "Looks like we're going to be arriving soon huh Scorch?" she said as she knelt down to pet the Growlithe. "It should be fun wouldn't you say," she thought with a grin.

Lyssa just gazed at the boat, wondering if she could get her hands on one. Sure, Silk can already provide transportation, but a boat? A boat just screams "Status"

Snake had been basking on the deck. He had drawn more than a few odd looks, just lying in the middle of the ground. He might have been mistaken for working on a tan, were he not fully clothed in a pair of jeans and a grey hoodie, zipper open to reveal a black t-shirt with an Ekans on it. The young man had just been lying there, motionless, and a few people had tapped him with their foots to see if he was alive. He hadn't stirred, and a pair of sailors next to him were discussing what to do with the body.

"I'm just saying, if we throw him off, that will save us a lot of paperwork." The one with his back to Snake said. While he talked, Snake got up and stretched. He examined his future classmates with his bright green eyes. His human father had always told him that he should be friendly. He knew that was mostly so he could socialize more and learn to integrate into human society. But his Ekans dad had also told him that snakes who make lots of friends will have people to hide behind if a Zangoose attacks. Dad was always weird like that. Keeping this in mind, he headed over to Lester. He'd been homeschooled most of his life, so he wasn't great at this sort of thing.

"Hey there. Are you excited to go on crazy nastyass Pokemon adventures?" Snake asked, clapping his hand on Lester's shoulders, his other hand making a thumbs up.

"Look, I know you want to fly. There will be time for that." Jazi told her Charizard with a shake of her head. The beast let out another dissatisfied roar, though lay his chin on his trainer's head. Compared to the giant fire-type, Jazi was rather short. However, that didn't discourage her. Her Skarmory and Haxorus were also quite large, so big Pokemon didn't intimidate her as much as she thought they were cool.

Shikoba stood up as he heard the announcement. He had spent the trip sitting at the tip of the deck, reading a book while he used the railing as support. Now that they were arriving, he put the book in his medicine bag and stood up, turning to look out over the railing. Kola his Murkrow partner had been sleeping on his lap. But like Shikoba, the Pokemon rose at te announcement, watching their arrival from on the railing.

He was quite excited to be arriving at the archipelago. He loved rangers methods of helping others, though he was admittedly disappointed when he discovered that some or rather a lot these days, had multiple pokemkn and forced them into balls. His people had always been against such a thing and had befriended pokemkn naturally. Kola followed out of friendship, not force. And the Murkrow had never been placed into a ball.

------

Meanwhile Nagato stood with the other teachers listening to the head ranger, stroking His suicune. His other three also stood by him, looking just like the loyal wives they were. He rarely put them in pokeballs. No need when they worked outside of them better. Plus easier to give a command of he didn't have to real ease them first, esepcily if he was ever tied up.

It also worked to show him as someone to respect. Being surrounded by wolves was a truly amazing image especially since they would growl at anyone who they didn't want near Nagato.

"Huh? whats up?" cried out Lester as he woke up. He then turned to Snake. "Oh, the pokemon adventures, sure I'm ready, Sky and I are always ready for adventures." Lester takes Sky out of his pokeball. "This is my buddy Sky, he's a Lucario" He goes on to look at Snake. "Who's your partner, a persons partner says a lot about the person. Or at least that's what the elders said." Lester then yelled out " Hey you all I Have an idea why don't we all introduce ourselves?"

A ferry, the ferry, ferrying in a ferry. It was the life sailing on a ferry and doing what people do on ferries.

The young man watched the water. It was really hypnotizing, really, really, really hypnotizing. He was a tall man at 6'2" with dark skin complexion with dark brown eyes and short buzz cut black hair. His name was Peter Odumbe from Knot Island in Kanto. Knot Island was a small place, it was really just famous for Mt. Ember otherwise people won't really care about it. Peter was wearing a green shirt and black gym shorts as he was still hypnotized by the movement of the ferry cutting through the water. He heard the intercom and was ready to get off but god damn that water movement was really hypnotizing. He couldn't move away from it.

At the other side was the ferry, lounging down getting a tan. Wearing a sarong over a purple bikini and a pair of sunglasses and a sun hat, was a woman. A woman that actually garnered more attention than she wanted or thought about. She was tanning with a big bottle of sunscreen right next to her, the best SPF there was. If any guy tried to talk to her, she would just ignore them. She was Sabine Weiß, a 17 year old from Castelia in Unova. She was a very attractive woman, a very attractive one indeed. She heard the intercom saying something about reaching its destination. Sabine got up to get change, it wouldn't be the best impression to rock up in a bikini and a sarong. She took off her sunhat revealing a beautiful, stunning light golden mahogany brown hair that side parts a classic bob which features graduated layers that are longest at the front. Then her sunglasses which revealed her deep dark brown eyes. Sabine changed into a functional yet classical night sky purple polo shirt. She wore it with a skort in flesh orange met that complemented the dark purple polo shirt. She wore it along with a very technologically advanced pair of white runners with purple touches.

Sabine Weiß was raring to go while Peter Odumbe was still sidetracked by the water.

Touko looked James and Jack with a curious shift of her sole eye, but stayed silent. She didn't mind if their boss got a little zealous with his speeches; if he was as honest as he sounded, the Ecruteakian blonde woman knew she would have a reliable boss to follow under.

The one-eyed former Pokémon trainer infamous for losing an eye and indirectly crippling her partner on live TV was dressed like a near stereotypical high school gym instructor, though they typically have both eyes intact and functional and don't wear white clothing.

In four separate corners of the boat, four different girls were standing, doing their own thing.

Lottie was along the bow of the ship, reading the Ranger rulebook. Ashlie was along the starboard of the ship, humming a little song to herself as she looked at the waves, content as all can be. Trish was at the rear of the ship, reciting some boxing-styled movements and counting in Spanish as she punched the air and strafed from side to side. This leaves Serenity the portside of the ship, who was busy tuning up her hoverbike, wearing a plain old black t-shirt and denim jeans, cursing herself for carrying the bike across salt-water for the second time of her life.

Thomas had taken to reclining at the bow, basking in the sun as he teetered between awake and asleep. He already had his stuff packed, sitting beside him, and now was his final moment to relax. He sighed in contentment, resting his head behind his hands. "Can't wait..." he muttered to himself with a grin.

Meanwhile, Evelyn simply nodded to the headmaster as she stood amongst the other teachers. She, too, was eagerly awaiting the arrival of the students. Time to see what these wannabe rangers were made of.

It wasn't long before the ship arrived, docking in the large harbor on the academy's largest island. There were a number of smaller vessels docked as well, from speedboats to fishing boats to survey ships, all painted turquoise with Ranger lettering on them. The students were led off of the vessel to the stadium where the teachers awaited them. Once the students were seated, Larmond called the meeting to order.

"Welcome! Welcome!" Having made sure his mic was on, his dulcet baritone easily carried throughout the entire stadium. When he had received the final class list, he had been ecstatic over both the size and the scope of the class. One of the largest on record and the students had come from all walks of life and from all over the regions. "I am so glad to have each and every one of you join us here at the finest ranger academy on the planet!" A bold claim, one that Sinnoh's academy would probably contest. But it was certainly true that this was an elite school, one that only the best of the best would be admitted to. "Throughout your time here, each of you will learn all of the skills that are required to be a great ranger; from battling to medicine to breeding to survival skills out in the field... you will all be tested. But I have no doubt that each and every one of you have what it takes to be great!"

Smiling, Victor turned towards his professors. "But now before I do anything else, I should introduce the faculty. I am Victor Larmond, headmaster of the school as well as the head ranger on the grounds."

Jack went next. "Jack Walker, ranger stationed on the Hoenn coastline. I will be a guest lecturer, teaching aquatic survival skills."

James went after that. Considering his stature in the battling world, having served as the champion of the Hoenn region for a time, as well as having been the runner-up in the Sinnoh League, anyone that followed battling news knew who he was. "James Dalton. Not a ranger, but I will be teaching you all the finer points of battling." He said with a bright smile. "I look forward to bringing out your best."

Daphne went after that. "Ranger Daphne Rose, stationed here as second Ranger in command. I teach Rangering basics to all first year students. It is delightful to meet you all." She was incredibly cheerful and upbeat, her typical state.

OOC: Going to let all the professors introduce themselves, then we're going to have Larmond hand out partners (yes you all get partners as well, all were rolled randomly), then quickly moving towards the meat of the plot!

Cress stepped forward.

"Cressida Rei. I'll be teaching Field Moves, which will be vital as a Ranger. It is probably one of the most common things you'll need out in the field, doing Missions. I look forward to teaching you all."

After seeing Cressida step forward, Roberta followed her actions. "My name's Roberta Fletcher, and I'll be teaching you the proper way to train your Pokemon. That is, the proper way to train your Pokemon using their EVs," she added with a smirk. "Look forward to meeting you all."

Touko was up next, and went up to the mike, taking out a naginata from behind her and slammed the weapon's shaft, getting a koto riff to mysteriously play. "I am Kenshin Touko. While I may not be a Ranger, active or not, I will be here to teach you self-defense, in both the forms of close combat and weaponry." The Ecruteakian spoke up coolly and clearly.

Like James, those that follow battling news would have knowledge of Touko, especially the dramatic battle in her Unova League fight that claimed an eye from the woman.

While not particularly interested in other subjects, Soren Loxaerion raised an eyebrow at the mention of Aquatic Survival Class. This, he thought, could be fun. He was born in Dewford Town and he spent most of his life in the seas. This will be a subject that he can ace with a breeze. Though he must admit, the other subject sounded like a torture, especially the EV Training subject. He, however, did not regret coming to this academy. This academy was undoubtedly one of the best Rangering Academy ever established and will surely bring him one step closer to his goal.

A swan-like Pokémon with primarily white plumage who was standing beside the country boy all this time tapped Soren gently on his waist, breaking his reverie. Her beak is long and yellow topped with a black cere, and she has several white feathery features adorning her head. She possesses a long, curving neck. Two light-blue feathery features, similar to those on the sides of her head, are present on her underside, and her large wings are positioned so that they curve away from her body. "Oh, Sharance? What's up girl?"

The Swanna pointed her beak towards the teacher with a naginata.

"That? Oh, relax." Soren said patting the female Swanna's head affectionately. "We won't need to use a weapon in class. That's probably just a trick to scare the new students.... I hope."

Next, Evelyn stepped forward, arms crossed as she overlooked the group of students. "My name is Ms. Baker. I will be teaching general Physical Education." She looked over the crowd; was that a groan she heard? "Spare me your enthusiasm. Being a Ranger is demanding, both mentally and physically. I'll be in charge of making sure you're up-to-snuff with regards to your fitness."
