On the archipelago that housed Hoenn's Ranger Academy, the sun was shining bright. It was a perfect day to be outside and Head Ranger Larmond enjoyed the fact that they could have the introduction ceremonies outside in the school's main stadium. While they were rangers, they still did host battle exhibitions, so the school housed a stadium that was large and luxurious enough to host League Championship matches should the need ever arise. Victor looked at his fellow faculty, brushing a small bead of sweat off of his dark skin.
"The first year students will be here in a few minutes and I wanted to talk to you all before they arrived." He said loudly, his voice booming even without the effect of the small microphone clipped to his lapel. "Many of you have never taught before, or at least have never taught rangers before... and I want all of you to know that I have the utmost faith in each and every one of you. This school trains the best of the best to be rangers and each of you was hired in your field of specialty for that exact reason." Larmond explained. "I am ecstatic to have all of you on board and look forward to seeing what each of you can bring to the table.
"Is he always like this?" James Dalton muttered into the ear of Jack Walker, his close friend growing up. The two couldn't be dressed more differently, Walker in his casual ranger attire and Dalton wearing a bespoke three-piece charcoal suit with a black tie.
"Always. Get used to it." Jack muttered as a reply. "Serves you right after all." James retort was muttered under his breath, something that wouldn't be repeated in present company and certainly not in front of the students.

"Attention! We will be arriving shortly! Please be ready to disembark in the next few minutes!" The voice came over the intercom on the ferry that was carrying all the first year students to the school.
"Jonny. Wake up time." Mikey leaned over and kicked his friend gently. Jonny had been sleeping, taking advantage of the bright sun to get a nap in before they got to the academy.
"Already... it seems like it's only been an hour since we left..." Jonny was still groggy as he sat up, taking in the sights. The water was crystal clear and they could see the massive islands that housed the school. It was a magnificent sight, no expense had been spared. Towering dorms, expansive fields, massive simulation and training areas... this was the place to learn how to be a ranger.
"Just over an hour and a half." Mikey corrected him, checking his watch to make sure his estimation was precise.

OOC: teachers, you're at the stadium. Students you're on the boat. Feel free to mingle, the students will be led to the stadium after a bit of that.
