Spin-Off Ranger transfers??

hey guys,

I just saw a story today about how Pkmn Ranger 3 will have ways (just wifi events?) to get Pkmn from Ranger 3 into HG/SS or Platinum.

so now I'm curious.... was there anything like that in Pkmn Ranger 1 and/or 2???

if so, I assume they were via wifi events, meaning one can no longer accomplish them, right?

any/all input is appreciated!

I think the Ranger games look SOOOO cool but it irks me to think that I can't carry over at least SOME of my accomplishments to other games.

Both games 1&2 could transfer event pokemon to the main series. Both had a manaphy event, and Almia also had a riolu (with aura sphere which it cant learn level up) event and one more event I am forgetting. And no, the events are all over, except I think the Manaphy event for ranger 1 hasnt been taken down. Not sure though.
 
Ranger 2 also had a Darkrai, though the only thing special about it (besides being a nearly unobtainable pokemon) is it's at level 50 and knows dark void.
