In 1997 Bandai released a set of stickers with one of 151 Pokemon on each of them.
However, the Pokemon art on those cards isn't really interesting - it's standard RGBY art for those Pokemon. However, on some of these cards there are also ITEM artworks in the circle below the Pokemon picture.
Those items belong to the rarest early Sugimori artwork that ever existed. They also show how some items were originally supposed to look like - most notably TMs and HMs. We've seen the original idea of bracelet-like TM/HM in Pokemon Zensho, PokeSpe (as a cameo) and briefly in Stadium GS. Pity that it got scrapped for those lame CDs.
The cards are collected in this 151chan thread.
Also, I was able to collect the item pictures in those two files:
File 1
File 2 (smaller pictures but some are better quality).
The items that we can see are: Coin Case, TM (all look the same), Silph Scope, Lift Key, Great Ball, Master Ball, Fresh Water, PokeDoll, Lemonade, HM (all look the same), Dome Fossil, Town Map, EXP. All, PokeDex, S.S. Ticket, PokeBall, Super Rod, Bicycle, Card Key, Helix Fossil, Itemfinder, Bike Voucher, Good Rod, Secret Key, Gold Teeth, Old Amber, PokeFlute, Old Rod, Soda Pop and Rare Candy.
Also, somebody is apparently selling the complete set of stickers on eBay. But he sells it for THOUSAND DOLLARS. So, I doubt that anyone's going to buy it. Also, some individual cards may be bought. But they're also very expensive, depending on rarity, may cost even $35 (and the very rare ones, like Charizard may even cost around $100. For ONE CARD!). So, I'm really NOT expecting anyone to buy them. Of course it would be uber-awesome if someone did and yet, agreed to scan them (at least the item pictures).
I should have done this earlier. I know about those artworks for a while. The thing is - there are MORE such artworks, especially from RGBY era. We'll never find them all. But we may do our best to find at least some of them.
