How would you rate Ash's Pokemon in these categories? Rate from 1-10, 10 being best.

Stamina (How long does it take to tire out?)
Close-Range Attack (How good is it at close-range fighting?)
Long-Range Attack (How well can it attack from a distance?)
Defenses (How well does it defend against various kinds of attacks?)
Speed (How fast and agile is it?)
Initiative (How well can it make a move without Ash telling it exactly what to do, such as dodging and grabbing onto the opponent?)

I'll start, with just Ash's current Japanese team. Feel free to expand on this and rate different ones or more of his or the gang's Pokemon if you like.

Pikachu
Stamina: 7
The most powerful known Pikachu, it can dish out a ton of punishment and run around dodging for a long time before tiring.
Close-Range Attack: 8
Without Volt Tackle, this score would be much lower. Other than this it's got Iron Tail and Quick Attack.
Long-Range Attack: 10
The sheer power of its Thunderbolt and Thunder attacks has surprised many an opponent.
Defenses: 5
Pikachu's one weak spot. Good thing it has such good speed and agility.
Speed: 9
If necessary, Pikachu can capably frustrate an opponent by dodging attack after attack until it sees an opening.
Initiative: 9
Experience and its close bond with Ash contributes to this.

Sceptile
Stamina: 8
Close-Range Attack: 9
Pound and Quick Attack aren't much, but it's got a heck of a powerful Leaf Blade.
Long-Range Attack: 9
Bullet Seed and now Solarbeam.
Defenses: 8
Sceptile is an extremely stubborn battler. It has taken more hits than it should many times in the past and has an incredible will to win every battle it's in.
Speed: 10
Arguably one of Ash's most agile Pokemon.
Initiative: 10
Sceptile constantly trains to become stronger. If it sees an opening to improve its situation in battle, it may not necessarily wait for a command.

Swellow
Stamina: 10
A juggernaut, pure and simple. Swellow is a seemingly tireless fighter.
Close-Range Attack: 8
Long-Range Attack: n/a
Defenses: 10
See Stamina.
Speed: 9
Initiative: 5

Donphan
Stamina: 7
Close-Range Attack: 7
Long-Range Attack: 7
Defenses: 7
Speed: 6
Initiative: 5

Corphish
Stamina: 6
Corphish gives it all in every battle, but it can tire if it attacks too much or too often.
Close-Range Attack: 7
Long-Range Attack: 7
Defenses: 6
Speed: 6
Initiative: 8
See the battle against Golduck in the Hoenn League.

Cool thread, it'll take my mind off of the horrible VA's.

IMO, Charizard is his best Pokémon. overall, 9/10. Swellow get's an 8/10.
