Er...I wouldn't recommend using these guys competitively unless you wanna do some serious re-breeding, but I guess for the Battle Area, as long as you don't go WiFi, it'll do. There are problems with both sets, though. A lot of your pokemon have natures or moves that either hinder or don't take advantage of their natural stats. On your first set, this is specifically your Alakazam and Gyarados; Hitmonchan and Breloom on the second. I can't really comment on Zangoose and Ninjask, having never used either (even in-game).

Let's start with the first two. Alakazam has, naturally, extremely high special attack and speed, though it's physical stats are lacking. Yet, yours has a Brave nature: +Attack, -Speed. I think that point makes itself obvious enough...you're not even using any physical attacks, there's no need for a +Attack nature -- and certainly not at the expense of Alakazam's speed.

On the flip side, Gyarados' Special Attack stat is horrible. Hydro Pump can easily be replaced with Waterfall, especially since you're running Dragon Dance, and Ice Fang can go over Ice Beam. Yes, Waterfall and Ice Fang respectively have lower base powers than Hydro Pump and Ice Beam, but Gyarados' naturally high physical attack, low special attack, and Dragon Dance combine to make them potent moves. Plus, Lax is a pretty bad nature no matter what you put it on: +Defense, -Special Defense doesn't do anything any good, least of all Gyarados. One STAB Thunderbolt and that thing's toast.

Now for your second set. Hitmonlee's base physical Attack is 105, and base Special Attack is 35. Modest nature is +Special Attack, -Attack. See where I'm going with this? Replace Sky Uppercut with Close Combat or Mach Punch -- Mach Punch could also go over Fire Punch, too. Just replace Sky Uppercut.

Breloom. Well, a neutral nature's not great, but it's not really hurting anything either. Again with the crappy Special Attack stat -- ditch Giga Drain...in fact, ditch everything except Leech Seed. That thing barely has any PP -- with Dynamic Punch's 50% accuracy, that's not a good thing. Try some of these sets. They may be tailored for competitive play, but they really help in getting an idea of where a pokemon's strengths lie.

To add to what Edo-Kun said... I'm not sure if by Battle Area you mean Battle Frontier... if so, these Pokemon will NOT do. If you want to get anywhere, you really must pick good natures and learn about EV training. That's the whole point in the Frontier, really.

I believe that the max amount of Pokemon in any of the facilities you can have in singles is 3, or 4 in doubles. Maybe you could post something a little more specific, like which team you want to use for which facility? Edo-kun's suggestions are a good start, but you will also need to choose 3 Pokemon (or 4 for doubles) that work together really well, or if you're going for specific prints, 3 Pokemon that work well enough together while also being able to handle the Frontier Brain's team for that print.

EDIT: Sorry, just realized you do in fact have your Pokemon divided into 2 sets... but that furthers the idea that you're looking to use them in the Battle Frontier. Like I said though, take some of Edo-kun's suggestions into consideration, and edit your post to give us a little more information on what you want the team to do and how you expect it to work.

I'm willing to retrain Pokemon, so I'll get a new Nature. Which one would be recommended?

*Just noticed something too, Alakasam can't learn Dragon Pulse. I wonder how I ended up teaching it that move, since I know I taught it the TM?(I was having trouble with the elite 4 with using moves too much so I taught it that 1/2 way through)*
Gyarados' Special Attack stat is horrible.
I wasn't able to get a firm choice on which physical moves i should teach it since I looked at my stats.

What is STAB, too?
I believe that it has strong attack, but it seems that it is very low in both defense and special defense, so this is a definite retrain.

Is there a move that it can learn that raises both special and normal defense?
This is one of the faster Pokemon in the game and gets faster each turn because of its ability. Attack, i think, is its second strong stat, so It has Swords Dance and physical moves(which need changing to stand against Pokemon its weak against, other move would be X-scissor). baton pass benefits the other Pokemon so they are for sure faster and have better attack, it has the focus band just because of this move so that the stats won't be lost in a tight spot.
[Hitmonchan]'s base physical Attack is 105, and base Special Attack is 35. Modest nature is +Special Attack, -Attack. See where I'm going with this? Replace Sky Uppercut with Close Combat or Mach Punch -- Mach Punch could also go over Fire Punch, too. Just replace Sky Uppercut.
This makes sense, and as I said before, I'm willing to retrain from the beginning, so I'll just get it a better nature and that thing I have in () (What do those little descriptive sentences tell me, anyway(IVs?, EVs?, or are they just words)?) I want to try to keep this ones moves the same because of the type differences, its ability and items help.
Dynamic Punch's accuracy isn't a problem if Mind Reader is used first, but i feel that your right on the Giga Drain, I'll change it with Drain Punch, and Leech seed with Superpower.

Is it possible to chain breed the move Mist(or any other moves that prevent stat reduction) to Breloom from Surskit though Phione?

To Dukeburger-
Yes, I meant the Battle frontier. I got the name of the town its in and its name itself combined by accident. I have got to check my words more often.
And these sets are for the Frontier in general, most likely singles and wasn't thinking of going for wi-fi until later when I'm willing to go all out and get my Pokemon from my other game migrated(When I get a chance, if any).

For all- This wall of text is blocking my view! sorry for it.

You should probably format those sets better, like in your first post, but I understand what you did.

Your natures are better, though with the added characteristics, I'm wondering if you know how to IV breed, or just got lucky somehow? Or if that reflects desired IVs in the future? Just curious.

To focus on the first team a bit... the sets are a little better, but I don't see the team as working that well together. Zangoose in particular is pretty fragile, and probably won't be able to switch into attacks. I think your best bet is to focus on Gyarados, and try building a team around him. However, you really need to change his moveset. I have no idea why you don't have Waterfall on there for STAB. Also, get rid of Giga Impact... it's usually not worth having a normal move on something that doesn't get STAB for it, as it offers no coverage, plus you have to waste a turn resting. I suppose Avalanche is fine, though Ice Fang is usually the standard. You want to be trying to go first anyway, especially with Dragon Dance on your set. Earthquake is great in case you have to stay in on any electrics. So, something like...

Gyarados
Nature: Adamant
EVs: depends
Item: depends

- Waterfall
- Earthquake
- Ice Fang
- Dragon Dance

EVs and item depend on what you want Gyarados to do. Do you want to lead with him or do you want him to be a switch-in? Either way, he works great. If you lead, you may just want to go 252 Atk, 252 Spe (and you can possibly go Jolly). He can intimidate other openers, and his set has good enough coverage... and he can still threaten things that he only gets neutral coverage on. The reason I said to build a new team around him, is because on a 3 Pokemon only team, there are other things he can be buddied up with. If you lead and pair him with something like Electivire, Electivire can switch in to a predicted electric attack and activate Motor Drive. You also wouldn't have to worry about Electivire coming in on an Earthquake... the computer sometimes does stupid things, but it will NOT use ground attacks on Gyarados. You could also pair Gyarados with something like Garchomp, who's a popular choice on Battle Frontier teams because of his power and typing. While Garchomp doesn't benefit from switching into an electric attack, at least he is immune, and can switch into opponents already weakened by Gyarados' intimidate. Alternately, if you felt Garchomp was threatened by an incoming ice attack, you could switch back into Gyarados, who would resist it.

Anyway, just an example. The Battle Frontier is a lot of trial and error. You'll have to try things around and see what works for you.

As for set 2... I don't know, it would help if you wrote it in a better format, but I'd say that Hitmonchan is redundant with Breloom. I'm really not sure how well Ninjask and Breloom work together, as I haven't tried it. I wouldn't use Mind Reader though, as that always requires you to use 2 turns to set up. You could use choice scarf on your Breloom and lead with it, forcing your opponent to sleep with Spore and switching in something that could easily set up on it, like Ninjask. That could work well, actually.

IWhat is STAB, too?

STAB = Same Type Attack Bonus. Basically, if a Water-type pokemon uses a Water-type move, the move will be stronger than if, say, a Psychic-type pokemon used a Water-type move.

To dukeburger-
I found the nature and characteristic lists on Serebii.net, so no, I didn't get lucky, but I don't know how to IV breed.

I like to think of Zangoose as my clean-up crew for when one of my Pokemon faint, but You have a point on its fagility. I feel Sandslash might be a good replacement. Does anyone have a Sandshrew or Sandslash since I can't get it, trade my Lvl 78 Magikarp, Female.

Sandslash
Timid
Sand Veil
EVs Hp-252 Spe-150 SpD-55 Def-50
Item-Bright Powder
-Moves-
Sandstorm
Double Team
Attract
Focus Punch

Gyarados
Adamant
EVs Atk-252 Hp-200 SpD-40 Def-15
Item-Kings Rock/Muscle Band
-Moves-
Earthquake
Ice Fang
Waterfall
Dragon Dance

And I'll replace Breloom with Dragonair since I prefer its ability of Shed Skin than Inner Focus on Dragonite and so it doesn't have the 4x weakness of Ice and gain a weakness of Rock.

Dragonair
Adamant
EVs Atk-252 Hp-100 Spe-100 Def-30 SpD-25
Item-Prism Berry/Metronome
-Moves-
Outrage
Dragon Rush
Iron Tail
Attract

That question of chain breeding for Mist hasn't come up yet. Neither has that move that could be recommended for Ninjask.

Off subject-Just got Silver print for the Battle Arcade!
Used a Lucario, Hitmonchan mentioned, and Alakasam mentioned.

To Edo-kun-
Thank you

This is kinda off topic, but I've bveen trying to figure it out for a while, how do you put the pictures in your post?

Ugh, getting that nature for Alakasam was too long, after 60 eggs and all of the days since I've last posted, I finally have a Abra with Modest Nature, and just so happens to be the first with the characteristic of Mischievous! Can't give it dragon pulse, but it has the egg moves Guard Swap, Reflect, and Substitute(Thanks, Mr. Mime). I think I'll keep Guard Swap. EVs SpA-255 Spe-255.

I have a Dratini with Adamant nature (my only ditto I have happens to be Adamant, the majority of the natures on the list).

A few questions.
  1. In the guide on this site for EVs, it says that turning off your game will reset your EVs. If that is true, then do I have to train my Pokemon to 100 before I turn it off so it can hold the EVs on turn on, or are the EVs held at level up?

  2. Does the sex make the stats different, like male has stronger attack and speed, and female has defense and HP?

  3. No one wants to comment on my new choices?(last post)

I've never heard of EVs being removed when the game is turned off before. That's interesting. They are definitely held at level up though.

Sex does not make the stats different. In Gen II, gender was determined by attack IV, but not anymore.

~Protect (10)
~Double Team (15)
~Focus Punch (20)

Magikarp(F), Lvl 1(PkRS)
EVs-none
Adamant(A little quick tempered.)(lol)
Swift Swim
Power Bracer
~SUPER_MEGA_Hyper splash (9,999)(jk)
~Splash (40)
Other team has not been touched. Keep in mind that this is NOT the final product. I refuse to have a Lvl 13 Pokemon in my Team, but a Magikarps fine.(Seriously, if it had Flail and Focus Sash, I'd be good.)(jk)(sorry about all the joking, Magikarp got me in that mood)

The EVs need to be redone on Kadabra since they don't maximize potential. Move set for Kadabra also needs Focus Blast, and Shadow Ball. Should I keep Toxic or Energy Ball for the fourth move?

Sandshrew just needs work. All I need to do is EV, Lvl, and get Attract from the Battle Frontier.

Magikarp needs a start, period.

I now believe that Outrage meant not saving.
