So yeah, my 10 friends and I created a psuedo-league at our local Gamestop. I only get online, but we have about 20 people in near there. So, I was chosen to be a Gym Leader in the league; and I chose a Psychic team. I want other battlers to give some opinions on it. How is it?
Bronzong
Heatproof @ Air Balloon/Wide Lens*
Relaxed
252 Def/4 HP/252 SpDef
~ Stealth Rock
~ Protect
~ Trick Room
~ Hypnosis
I often start with Bronzong; setting up a Trick Room and using Stealth Rock. I keep it in until I set up my Sleep and/or Hazards (which lasts only about as long as it takes for the opponent to switch into a Ground/Fire-type), before going into another Pokemon.
*When I have a Wide Lens on, I Trick Room and Hypnosis; then set up my Rocks.
Reuniclus
Magic Guard @ Life Orb
Quiet
252 HP/4 Def/252 SpAtk
~ Psychic
~ Shadow Ball
~ Focus Blast
~ Trick Room
I use Reuniclus as my Room Sweeper. I usually go right into her right after Bronzong, or wait until the Trick Room fades and switch in and set up the Room again.
Gallade
Steadfast @ Expert Belt
Lonely
252 Atk/4 Def/252 Spd
~ Night Slash
~ Swords Dance/Ice Punch*
~ Zen Headbutt
~ Drain Punch
I don't normally switch to Gallade unless one of two things happen: Reuniclus/Bronzong faints, or the opponent is asleep. I keep him in normally to Swords Dance + D. Punch opponents he has an advantage over. He's never in for more than... oh, about 2 turns.
*I switched to Ice Punch for a bit to hit Flying-types w/ Expert Belt power.
Espeon
Magic Bounce @ Focus Sash
Modest
252 SpAtk/4 Def/252 Spd
~ Psychic
~ Calm Mind
~ Shadow Ball
~ Hidden Power Fire*/Hidden Power Fighting*
Espeon is a survival Sweeper for me. She comes out when an opponent she can outspeed is usually low in HP , and has swept through a good number of my team; like a Haxorus stuck in Outrage. With the Sash, she can just STAB Psychic it to seal the deal; taking advantage of Haxorus' low SpDef.
*The Hidden Powers are pretty subjective for me, as I've recently switched to Fighting; to deal with opponents like Weavile.
Alakazam
Magic Guard @ Life Orb
Modest
252 SpAtk/4 Def/252 Spd
~ Psychic
~ Shadow Ball
~ Focus Blast
~ Barrier/Calm Mind*
A classic Alakazam Sweeper. I come in with Barrier in the first turn, and then go in for the attack with the second. Helps loads against Weaviles; which are the main threats of my team.
*I switched from Calm Mind after a while, due to the fact that it was pretty unecessary with the recoil-less Life Orb bonuses of my moves. And, Alakazam's Special Defense is already pretty decent; so I found the move to be pretty superfluous.
Metagross
Clear Body @ Choice Scarf/Life Orb*
Adamant
252 Atk/4 Def/252 Spd
~ Meteor Mash/Bullet Punch*
~ Zen Headbutt
~ Rock Slide/Earthquake*
~ Agility/Aerial Ace*
Now, Metagross is my most unsure Pokemon. I just can't seem to get him with the correct set. My current set runs the stats (w/ HP replacing Def) seen above w/ Life Orb + M. Mash, Z. Headbutt, R. Slide, and A. Ace (this was for Earthquake-knowing Fighting-types at one point... then I smacked myself for being so stupid >.<). This worked for a while, getting rid of some Charizards I faced on WiFi. However, Speed Boost Blaziken came... nuff said.
*All of these asterisks are sets I've tried. Really, this is where I'll need your helps, guys. What set should I run, since I'm trying to go for a pretty basic Physical Sweep Metagross.
So, what do you guys think?
