Okay, I've been trying to get a 100-win streak at the Pearl Battle Tower for ages. I've used different Pokemon and different teams, but this is the one I'm currently using. My best win streak I've ever accomplished is 60, when I got haxed to death by a Kingdra. But that was with a different team (Weavile - Porygon-Z - Cresselia).

Starmie
Item: Life Orb
Nature: Modest
EVs: 6 HP, 252 Sp.Atk, 252 Speed
Ability: Natural Cure
Moves:
-Surf
-Ice Beam
-Thunderbolt
-Recover

This is a good lead. It can 1HKO or 2HKO a lot of opponents. However, I'm not sure if Recover is a good choice. In fact, I don't remember ever having used it. Starmie isn't bulky enough to manage a Recover, as a lot of moves can deal a damage of more than 50% of its HP. A letdown is its weakness to Absol. I lost because of that Pokemon. If an Absol-lead has Pursuit, I'm down to 2 Pokemon before the battle has even started. If it doesn't, it's still faster than Starmie. What do I do?

If the opponent sends out an Electric Type, I switch to this fellow:

Garchomp
Item: Yache Berry
Nature: Jolly
EVs: 6 HP, 252 Atk, 252 Speed
Ability: Sand Veil
Moves:
-Swords Dance
-Earthquake
-Outrage
-Fire Fang

Garchomp usually gets a free switch-in when the opponent uses an Electric move. Fire Fang covers the other two Pokemon's weaknesses to Bugs. I guess this one doesn't need further explanation.

Umbreon
Item: Leftovers
Nature: Relaxed
EVs: 252 HP, 200 Atk, 56 Sp.Def (I guess, don't really remember)
Ability: Synchronize
Moves:
-Protect
-Curse
-Payback
-Wish

My counter for Ghost-Pokemon. It can kill any Pokemon that doesn't hit it super-effectively. After a few Curses, it rocks with Payback. Its weakness to Fight-moves is a letdown though. Protect to activate Wish. Wish can also heal my sweepers if they are hurt.

Anyway, any suggestions on how to improve this team? Or can anyone come up with a different, better team? It doesn't matter if it's cheap. Because after all, it's all about getting a 100-win streak. Thanks for reading and commenting.

Absol will never ourspeed starmie, unless it has a scarf. I would give it psychic over recover also

About firefang, a dragon claw would do more damage to any bug thats not named scizor or forretress, or shedinja. Use fire fang on the steels only

Umbreon, use wish. and maybe run protect over toxic ??

Do you mean Protect to activate Wish? Then I think I might rather just use Moonlight, as Sandstorm isn't that common in the Battle Tower I guess. And I really want to keep Toxic, because it has helped me a lot of times.

About Fire Fang, with Bugs I actually meant Shedinja. I don't want Umbreon to be the only Pokemon that can beat Shedinja, because it can be 2HKOd by X-Scissor.

Anyway, thanks a lot for the suggestions. :)

Shedinja can only appear in the first 20 trainers partys :)

You have broken rule t... oh wait those are the other idiots that have previously posted in this subforum. Thanks for following the rules :)

One suggestion: DEFINITELY run Protect over Toxic. Keep Wish/Protect; if one of your main sweepers is badly hurt, you can bring Umbreon in, use Wish, then switch back to the injured sweeper. Also, Wish/Protect is more useful in standard play.

Okay then. The problem is, it is very hard to get a safe switch-in for Starmie, as it's rather frail.

Thanks anyway.

Just have to bring it in on resistances. I also recommend using Life Orb over Expert Belt since you have Recover. Life Orb has a little more power than Expert Belt (even when Expert Belt is actually working) and Recover can take off the damage you get (if you need to).

EDIT: Just saw that you took Recover off. Nevermind then haha

I've already changed (not definitely) Recover to Psychic, on freddie515's suggestion. But if I do use Life Orb, then what do I give my Garchomp?

Since you have Swords Dance, you could always do what I do and use Yache Berry. It's saved me MANY times.

Hmmm... Yes, I could do that. Thanks!

I actually have a very similar Garchomp... however, I would run Outrage over Swords Dance. If you consider Swords Dance indispensable, then I would say drop Dragon Claw. Outrage is an incredibly powerful move that OHKOs most Pokémon. One other significant asset this set has is that Earthquake can function well against Outrage switch ins such as Tank Registeel.

Thanks, I'll consider it. The confusion Outrage brings won't be that harmful as Battle Tower battles are usually short, especially when Outrage is used. :p

If i were u i would swith out umbreon with saybaleye or spiritomb.

Lol no.
Sableye sucks and Spiritomb isn't that much better. They are both outclassed by Umbreon.

You might want to make Umbreon Sassy, since it will be getting a Defense boost from Curse anyway. It will just help make it bulkier.

I don't know why I used a Relaxed Eevee, but I did, and I don't have time to breed and train another one. I hope it's not that important.

Eh, no, it's not THAT important (Seeing as it's only Battle Tower), but it would help things a bit. Oh well, no big deal.

Well, thanks for your help anyway.

EDIT: Thanks for the help everyone. With my improved team, I managed to get to 67 wins right away. I lost because of a tie. This is what happened:

Foe sends out Muk, I send out Starmie. I switch to Garchomp, Muk Flings his Quick Claw. Muk can't do a lot to my Garchomp, so I grab the opportunity to get a Swords Dance under my belt. Muk uses Gunk Shot, misses. Garchomp uses Earthquake and kills Muk.
Next Pokemon: Walrein. Garchomp uses Outrage, but doesn't totally kill Walrein. Walrein uses Sheer Cold. Hits. Garchomp is down. I pick off Walrein with Starmie's Thunderbolt.
Last Pokemon: Gallade. My Starmie uses Surf and manages to deal 3/4 damage. As I predicted, Gallade uses Leaf Blade which killed Starmie (Starmie was already a bit damaged because of Life Orb). Last Pokemon I have left is Umbreon. If I can survive a Fight-type move, I win. But Gallade uses Destiny Bond. My Umbreon's Payback kills Gallade, but Umber gets taken down with Gallade. Tie, which means I lose. Not really fair IMO.

I don't know why I posted all this.
