So you get the hang of it, I will post an example, which will be "The Lion King", only with Water-type Pokemon in an (at least somewhat) aquatic environment.

Gollum: Sableye (Smeargle just isn't creepey enough. Sableye is just plain scary, and he's terrible, so I wouldn't mind seeing him thrown into a volcano)

Gandalf the White: Alakazam (I like him here too)
Aragorn: Gallade (Come on! He's got freaking swords for arms!)
Gimli: Graveler (I think a rock pokemon accents the earth-based dwarves better than a grass pokemon. Better to save the grass for the elves)
Legolas: Grovyle (He just seems so slender and speedy, just like an elf)
Treebeard: Torterra (The guy's got a freaking tree growing out of his back. Sudowoodo also works, though)
Frodo: Furett (Quick and good at hiding)
Samwise: Nidoran (Male) (Fierce little bugger isn't he?)
Pippin: Snubbull (I don't know, but Snubbull seems to fit, doesn't it?)
Merry: Teddiursa (See above, but replace Snubbull with Teddiursa)

Penny: Beautifly (Sweet, cute, and ultimately innocent)
Link: Roserade (the masquerade has the "Knight in Shining Armour" feel)
Edna Turnblad: Blissey (What can I say? Evolved form of Chansey.)
Seaweed: Gallade (He's a lover, not a fighter, but when pushed...)
Lil' Inez: Kirlia (Again, goes with Gallade like a little sister.)
Corny Collins: Chatot (Corny is "The man who keeps it spinning round," Chatot's tail keeps the beat as a metronome.)
Motormouth Maybelle: Vespiquen (She is the definitive "Queen Bee")
Wilbur Turnblad: Bibarel (Quite oblivious, as in the scene with Velma Won Tussle)
Amber Von Tussle: Glameow (Prissy, fickle, conniving little thing.)
Velma Von Tussle: Honchkrow (She's pretty much head honcho of all shady doings in the movie.)
