I was on wonder trade, trading away some Gibles I bred, when I receive... A level 100 Shiny Greninja with perfect IVs in every stat, a timid nature, the ability Protean, and fully EV trained in Special Attack and Speed. It also once had Pokerus. I've been wanting a Protean Greninja for online battles and such, but I have a suspicion that whoever traded this Greninja to me hacked it into the game. I think it's unfair to used hacked Pokemon, even if it was traded to me by some random person. I'm not sure it was hacked, but it seems like it. Should I use this Greninja?

Edit: I forgot to state that it knows Dark Pulse, Extrasensory, Grass Knot, and Scald.

I assume there's nothing obviously hacked about its metadata (caught level/location/date) ?

It is always technically to breed a 6IV shiny anything, but you're right to be suspicious of this confluence of shiny, IVs, and hidden ability -- we're talking like 1 in a minimum 20,000 probability even at best.

So if you don't think you should use it for battle, use it for breeding. One Power item and you can guarantee a 5IV child. (If you're the kind to use Hidden Power, 5IV is more flexible than 6IV anyway.)

I had the exact same Greninja traded to my X version half a year ago more or less. I traded it for something similar I think. I did use it in battle a few times online, but it was weaker than expected, so I traded it...

You should be very careful, but at least remember that there are SOME non hacked ones, so it's not a guarantee to be a non legit one.

Does it say it was received in Aquacorde Town? If it does then it is indeed a hack. If it was hatched from an Egg from Daycare, then we have two possibilities.

One, it could have been legitimately bred this way, if the OT had a 6IV Ditto and a Frogadier from a Friend Safari; I've been doing some shiny breeding myself and gotten quite a few great Pokemon from it. Or, the OT could have used an RNG manipulator in order to get what s/he wanted. If it was RNG'd, it would still be considered legit; the OT simply found a way of working the numbers to speed up the process and get the perfect shiny. And yes, there is the possibility that it could be hacked but with breeding as it is now, I don't see it with more common Pokemon as often. (Most people now stick to hacking Legends. I've gotten one of those, trust me.)

Now, in light of all this it is up to you as to whether or not you want to use this Greninja. If you don't feel comfortable using it for the metagame, you can use it for breeding and get your own shiny Protean Froakie. Your Wonder Traded Greninja doesn't necessarily have to see an on-line battle if you don't feel right about that, but it could be viable for a future Masuda run.

Personally, I'd use it for breeding purposes. I love being able to say that I hatched a shiny on my own and love having the option of giving it a nickname but I digress.

You forgot to mention that someone would WONDER TRADE that Greninja.

It says that it was from "A Day-Care Couple", the egg was received 5/13/2015, and hatched 5/13/2015 in Lumiose City.

It most likely is hacked or at the least cloned. If you don't like that sort of thing then just release it, no point in furthering potential hacks within the Pokemon base.
