OOC: Your character will first awake and react in the dreamscape in which they are told the following. Afterwards, they will wake up near Sandgem Town, Jubilife or Twinleaf, where they will get their first Pokemon.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Young trainer... listen, and heed my words. They are of upmost importance..." A deep, but calming voice echoed through the minds of the trainers this being was speaking to. The dreamscape appears to be nothing but a vast, white plane, holding nothing but a staircase that seems to go up infinitely. "You are not who you think you are.... Once you wake from this sleep, you will begin a personal journey.... You will see what it means to live, and discover your true nature.... Only then, will you hear my voice again.... Once you hear my voice, you must follow it, so that I may test your resolve.... Awaken, young trainer.... Awaken.

Mauve, having slowly realized what happened, began to look around before he took notice at the large staircase. As the voice echoed through Mauve's dreamscape, he could only marvel at what was happening. He couldn't move his lips, nor make a sound, despite his will to utter even a single word.

When the voice had commanded Mauve to wake, he quickly jerked his head forward. He was sweating and panting, the voice still ringing through his very being. It was early, around 7:30 a.m, but Mauve simply couldn't go back to sleep. That dream was just too... concerning. Mauve was resting at the Pokemon Center in Jubilife City, having already left his hometown, Veilstone City, through a safer route to Sandgem Town. "What... what was that? That wasn't an ordinary dream... " Mauve got out of his bed, still shaken up, but not too badly.

As he got freshened up and ready, he set out for Sandgem Town, to meet Professor Rowan at his lab, and meet his first Pokemon. The sky was a bit cloudy, but the temperature was just perfect for a walk from Jubilife to Sandgem.

Serafina looked up at the large staircase, the voice's words resonating in her ears. What did they mean? What was she supposed to do? She was confused. When the voice commanded her to awaken, her eyes opened wide and her breathing was heavy. Chills were still on her body from the dream. She got up and showered before leaving the pokemon center in Sandgem Town where she had arrived late last night. Today she was going to the lab to get her first pokemon.

Steve woke up with sweat pouring down his body. "The heck was that all about? I should avoid eating that giant ice cream sundae before I go to sleep." The sun was shining on right at his blue eyes. "Nice timing but how on Sinnoh was that dream so vivid. I have no idea what it was about but I'm going to figure that out" Steve grumbled as he got out of bed and threw on a shirt. He was at Twinleaf after staying with his cousin who decided to talk about his books all night.

Steve stretched and showed. "If only she could see me now." He muttered to himself but that train of thought was taken over by his very descriptive dream. At least it was not a hard walk for Steve going to Sandgem to get his first Pokemon. "Man I miss those supermodel dreams but maybe I should see those hokey psychics about that dream because it felt weirdly real...weird." Steve continued to talk to himself while walking towards Sandgem Town.

Cassie was in awe of the dream she had, even more so because of the scenery. It didn't look natural. When she stared at the clock, she realized that she woke up just in time. She chose not to wsorry about her dream right now, and got showered and dressed. Once she finished, she gathered her stuff so she could go to Sandgem, which wasn't far from Twinleaf. She grabbed some fruit and left the house, feeling good enough to hum a tune as she walked. She hadn't even considered the fact that she'd be dealing with people there, and she hated being around people.

Darren was sleeping atop a tree branch close to Sandgem Town. He had been traveling for a week from Pastoria City, whether by foot, truck or bus and was finally able to reach Sandgem Town. The teenager groaned awake as he sat up on the branch, he brushing his white hair aside so that his eyes could be visible. "Damn it I hate the mornings,' he groaned before leaning forward and jumping off the branch and landing on the floor. "So finally I reach this place huh?' he said as he turned to look at the town that was not too far from where he stood. "Better get this done with."

Mauve, having made it to the research lab in Sandgem Town, was greeted by the receptionist. A female in her late twenties with blonde hair and blue eyes, not to mention a fair complexion. "Hello! How can I help you today?" She asked while eying Mauve, thinking if he was one of the trainers Professor Rowan wanted to speak to.

"My name is Mauve... I'm here for a starter Pokemon," he said while looking to the side. "Ah, yes... please, come inside through the double doors. We have a variety of Pokemon for you older trainers today." She said with a smile as she walked through her own door to the laboratory. Mauve followed suit, and was immediately greeted by, as she said, a variety of Pokemon. "We normally have extra Pokemon for you older kids, but strangely, these five Pokemon were just left at our doorstep. Not even without a note... anyway, they're under our care until an older trainer decides to take one as their partner." She left to grab the Pokedex and some paperwork, as Mauve surveyed the lab.

Some of the Pokemon included were a Ralts, a Charmander, a Koffing and a Feebas in a large water tank meant for the Piplup Prof. Rowan gives to younger trainers. But the one Pokemon that caught Mauve's "interest" was an Ekans, coiled around itself in a corner of the room, with a half-eaten bowl of Pokemon food.

Ekans and Mauve locked eye contact. Ekans was curious, but Mauve was a bit frightened. Sure, he had a fascination of Snake Pokemon, but being near one put him on a slight edginess. Ekans began to unravel and slither towards the frightened teenager. Mauve could only stare, as Ekans also held eye contact whilst slithering towards him. As soon as Ekans was but inches away, it began to slither up Mauve's leg and hang around his shoulders. It gave a contented hiss, but Mauve was completely confused. Could this Ekans see something in him? "Well, aren't you two a happy duo? Have you chosen this Ekans as your starter?" The receptionist from before came back with paperwork and a Pokedex. "Umm... yeah," Mauve replied quietly. "Great! Here's it's Pokeball. Please have a seat in the lobby until all five of you get your Pokemon."

Mauve did so, with a loving Ekans in tow. He couldn't help but think about why this Ekans was so attached to Mauve so easily. Ekans, however, was looking around while it hung around Mauve's shoulders. As Mauve sat down, Ekans could sense Mauve's tension and decided to go in it's Pokeball. Mauve, though relieved, couldn't help but feel a bit guilty. Sure, he accepted the Snake Pokemon as his partner, but he didn't even know why.

Serafina entered Professor Rowan's lab where she was greeted by the receptionist and taken to a room with four pokemon. The receptionist had said some things about the pokemon being left at the lab mysteriously, however she didn't care for it. She looked around at the pokemon that were there. First she looked at Charmander, her face wrinkled in disgust. "Who would want that scaly lizard as a partner," she said to herself quiet enough for no one to hear. She then looked at Koffing, her disgust worse than with Charmander. When her eyes landed on Ralts she let out a relieved sigh at seeing a pokemon she didn't find ugly or disgusting however something felt off when staring at it.

At that moment she heard the sound of water and saw the Feebas in the tank. She couldn't believe how ugly it was, yet she felt herself drawn to the tank. "You are ugly. Ugliness is useless in the world, so what is it about you?" The feebas stared back at her for a moment before swimming back and then jumping out of the tank and into Serafina's arms. "Eww you're wet and slimy," she whined.

The receptionist then came in asking Serafina if she was choosing Feebas. Serafina failed to find the words to deny and in the end ended up just taking its pokeball and her pokedex and then followed the woman to the lobby where another boy with an ekans sat. The whole time she held Feebas in her arms telling herself that it was because he had gotten her white shirt wet thus making it see through, however hidden inside her was a different reason.

"Anorak. That's your new name," she told him as they waited. "No choice in it." Anorak cheerfully snuggled in her arms at the name, liking it and feeling it was right.

When Cassie got to the lab in Sandgem, she was surprised to see that other people were here before her. In hindsight, she should have known, but she didn't like thinking about it. She ignored the other people in the room, and focused her attention on the Pokemon. A Ralts caught her eye, and she approached it. The Ralts looked up at her, and timidly scurried across the room away from her. Confused, Cassie made after the Ralts, only to trip over her own feet in a show of clumsiness. She fell flat on her face, and her glasses flew across the room. Dazed, and infinitely embarrassed, she got up, hoping the other Trainers hadn't seen that. She knew they had, though, and would settle for them not laughing or commenting. Then it hit her that her glasses were not on her face, as she couldn't see. The pain of being nearly blind in both eyes. She began patting around looking for them on her hands and knees, when she suddenly felt something slide on her face. It was her glasses, somehow. Looking around in confusion, she noticed that the Ralts appeared to be using psychic power. It was the one responsible for putting her glasses back. She got up and walked over to it, kneeling down so as not to look as intimidating. Not that there was anything intimidating about Cassie, though.

"Tank you, Walts." She spoke, showing off an embarrassing speech impediment. "You don't have to be scawed of me. I'm not a bad pewson." Ralts seemed to understand, and nodded to her, nuzzling her hand. Giggling quietly, Cassie picked it up, and held the fragile psychic-type like it were a precious glass item. When the receptionist asked Cassie if she chose Ralts, she merely noddedf, not wanting to show off any more of her speech impediment. After getting Ralts' Pokeball and her Pokedex, she sat down in a corner holding Ralts, hoping that no one would talk to her.

Before he got in the lab of Professor Rowan, Steve was living with his cousin in Twinleaf Town and then after that he walked a short walk to Sandgem. Steve kind of got lost and ended up at a lake until an old fisherman told him where to go. After getting the right directions, the jock like teen reached Sandgem Town and had to be given directions to the lab. He learnt that he needed to buy a map. "Hello hottie." Steve looked at the receptionist. He could see that there were a few Pokemon left over in Professor Rowan's lab. "Alright." He looked around and could see that there were a Charmander and some other Pokemon but a Pokemon caught Steve's eye.

"Sweet a Koffing." He pointed at the Purple Gas Pokemon thing that had a weird smiley face. "I'm taking you and we are going to beast. They are going to be scared, we gonna beast." Steve said to the Koffing who well had the same weird smiley face. "It's looks like you're mine." The Koffing just floated over him. Steve could see that there were other trainers around. "Oh man no hotties minus the receptionist but she's too old for me." He muttered to himself while looking at the others. He did however notice his Koffing floating over his dark blonde hair. "Alright get in there, man." which Koffing gladly accepted.

"At least I'm not giving you a nickname. I can't think of anything to call you except....yeah I got nothing. Hey at least you're cool." Steve smiled looking at the Pokeball which contained the said Koffing. The receptionist told Steve to go the lobby where there was a girl and a guy. He had no idea what to do except maybe read a book or at least watch TV except there was not a TV. He would at least stare at a pot plant because at least that would be mildly entertaining until he realized that there were magazines. Steve picked one up and started to try and find either some good clothes or some pretty women to look at.

Darren walked into the lab after finally arriving on Sandgem. The first thing he noticed were all the other trainers that had already picked out their Pokemon, something that made him groan at the fact that he was the last one to arrive. He walked over to the table where the Charmander stood. "So you're the only one left huh?' he said while looking down at the lizard Pokemon. "Yeah I guess I can take you," Darren shrugged as he grabbed the Pokemon and set him down. "As long as you're prepared for some training."

"Char!" the Charmander cheered, mostly by the fact that it was finally picked by someone. Darren just stared at it for a second before turning around and walking towards the receptionist. "Can I have my Pokedex?" he asked simply while looking at her." the receptionist just nodded her head before giving him the items. With that Darren finally turned towards the other trainers that had gathered and proceeded to walk towards them. "So why are we all still here?"

Professor Rowan walked through the double doors after seeing the five trainers. "Ah, good, everyone is here. Everyone, please come with me. I'd like to speak with all of you discussing a concern I have." He gestured everyone through the double doors to the second floor of the laboratory, where Professor Rowan normally writes down his findings.

"Please, have a seat in my office and return your Pokemon," he said as he exited the lobby.

Mauve got up and followed after Professor Rowan after clipping his Pokeball to his belt. He stopped for a second to really think about having Ekans as his partner, but just shrugged it off and went through the double doors and up the stairs.

Serafina took a moment to take out her white hoodie from her bag before she retuned the water type. She sighed at seeing she was right that Anorak had gotten her shirt wet enough to be see through. She quickly tossed on the jacket hoping no one had seen. She then followed the professor and sat down to listen to the professor.

Steve decided to sit down as he tossed the Pokeball into his pocket. It was going to be a while waiting at Professor Rowan's lab but at least it looks pretty cool. "Cool." Steve made himself comfortable as he waited around by putting his hands in his dark blonde hair and trying to make different styles from messy to even more messier. It was a neat office but he just had to sit and wait with his Koffing in a Pokeball.
