So, I'm erasing my Hard Drive and using this website:
http://www.help2go.com/Tutorials/Computer_Basics/Completely_Erase_a_Hard_Drive_with_DBAN.html
I'm on number 5
5. Follow the onscreen instructions. You will need to insert a blank floppy into your floppy drive at this point. If it prompts you to reformat the floppy first, please do so.
and its telling me this

can someone please help me?

and when I click 3 1/2 floppy (A:) in 'my computer' it says this;

Do I have the wrong type of floppy disk for my computer or something?

Yeah, sounds like a bad disk. Try another; should that fail, it could be the drive, especially if it hasn't been used in a while.

well I just bought the box of floppy disks, and the back says: Pre-formatted for use on all IBM and IBM compatible computers. Can be re-formatted for use on any 3.5 (89 mm) double sided, high density floppy disk drive.

So... I dont know what IBM is.. So it must be that or the drive is broken..

Does anyone know what IBM means?

IBM is one of the oldest brands of PC (in fact, "PC" is or was one of their trademarks). These days, IBM-compatible basically means any computer that can run Windows.

If you've tried several disks, and none work, it's probably a drive problem.

Oh yea I forgot, I think I had one of those when I first started playing Pokemon, (like when I was 8 9 or 10 or around there).. Anyone know any other FREE way to erase my harddrive (besides a huge magnet) lol..

What are you trying to do? If you're trying to reload your operating system, you shouldn't even need a floppy disk to do so. These steps seem... pointless.

The page he links to is for a program to completely wipe a hard disk so the data cannot be recovered, probably in preparation for selling or giving away the computer. This requires booting from a disk other than the one to be wiped.

That's what I'm doing but I'm keeping it, I'm deleting my harddrive because as many programs as I delete it doesn't give me anymore memory and 100% of my memory is full, so it's frusteratingly slow and sometimes exits out of internet programs and other things because it does not have enuff memory to run it...
But, I got my floppy to work, and now I'm stuck on the 2nd to last step...

If the PC is set to boot from the floppy drive, you will see the nuke floppy load into memory.

If the PC does not boot from the floppy, you will need to change your BIOS options. Typically, you would hold down the delete key as your PC starts up to get into the BIOS options. The boot sequence is usually on the first page or under advanced bios features. There should be onscreen intructions at the bottom that will explain how to change the settings. Once floppy drive has been made first boot device save changes & exit (usually by pressing F10 again look at the onscreen instructions).

How do I load the floppy into the memory? I already set the floppy as the first boot device, I just don't understand how to load the floppy in the memory... =( I don' believe it's sopposed to be this hard

In that case, you don't need to do this. Memory (the sort used to run programs) and disk space (used to store everything) are not the same thing.

Oh my bad, I ment my disc space is full I have only 37.26 GB and its 100% full..
