If someone posts spam, don't reply to it. Report it and a mod or admin will get to it.

Jesus, I thought this was the board for the thinking Pokemon fan.

What's wrong with doing both? I don't think I'm idiot for trying to have fun.

oh wait, I forgot; the internet is serious business

Well I think she's referring to the population that just replies rather than reporting.

Mmm... people may report it first and then spam the topic. Mods aren't gods so it takes some time for one to get to a topic... (but you probably know that)

To be honest, from the title I was expecting this as another spam topic :p

Edit: Also never assume anything! :p

There's no reason why people should reply to spam threads. Just use the report button as you guys are supposed too. All spam threads will get deleted and your posts in them will go bye bye.

It's fun? I know the posts disappear along with the threads, but its fun, and there's no harm in it.

Nice, change the thread title Ketsuban. XD

I rather like mocking spam threads, personally. It beats a lot of the alternatives.

I like to make a sarcastic reply to those stupid topics.

But if we aren't wanted to, then I will stop.

And I deleted it so now no one can see it.

And I wouldn't be sure about "no harm done" since the bots now know this is an active forum.

This may seem childish, but I'm extremely curious as to what the hell the problem is if we're reporting the bots and replying to them. They already know we're an active forum; they'll realize that when the thread is deleted.

Don't feed the trolls :p

Seriously, why is it such a problem to respect the wishes of the moderators? We get the same spambots over at another forum I moderate at, and we have the same rule. I can't speak for the way things are run here, but my reasoning is that by posting on them you show that they're acknowledged, as opposed to being silently swept into the trash where they belong. And it's plain annoying.

Like Joey said, they'll also realise people are reading them if they keep being replied to.

Please note: The thread is from 18 years ago.
Please take the age of this thread into consideration in writing your reply. Depending on what exactly you wanted to say, you may want to consider if it would be better to post a new thread instead.
