Gamma station, this is firming an RSO. Unconfirmed reports of an insystem slipspace rupture.

(End flashback)

BAM!

A grunt flipped over, dead. Another victim of Hobbs's uncanny accuracy. He walked over and relieved it of its plasma grenades and plasma pistol. Ever since his Pelican had been shot down by a group of Banshees, he had been living in the rocks north of the orbital MAC guns generator stations. As he pulled out another ration bar, he wondered if anyone else was still alive down here

"Jacob, you sure you're going to do a single Helljump to find survivors from those birds? Because it may be the single stupidest thing you've ever done. You're not even supposed to exist!"

"Commander, that could have been me. One time, it was. I'm not going to sit here."

"If you go through with this, I'll... I'll..."

"Commander, you may command this ship, but like you said; I don't exist. You can't do shit to me, so go shove yourself if you think you can."

As Jacob climbed into the ODST pod, he smiled beneath his EVA helmet as the Commander looked like he was going to have an anyurism. "I don't exist," Jacob said one last time, "so I won't be missed."

{Can any one hear me? This is Dante Cruz, ODST of the 801st Brigade. It's gone to hell. All of my squad sans me are dead, killed by an ambush. I'm in the ruins if any Spartan or Earthling is hearing this.} Came Dante's SOS transmission.

Overhead, Phantoms activated their spotlights and began flying around the area. Shit. Another soldier just happened to call an SOS when there are Phantoms flying around. Great. Just great. Well, time to rescue a damsel in distress. Hobbs thought as he loaded up his gear and ran to the radio beacon.

"Scanning now..." Jacob watched the screen, ignoring the rapid descent. He had picked up a ghost transmission, but he had two blips; one north of the MAC generators and one from the source of the ghost SOS, in some ruins. He decided on the one north of the MAC gens- the other could be picked up by someone else easily. He began to shift his pods target to the source.

*Aboard orbital dropship*
"Alrighty men. We are about to drop into a combat zone. We are going in to help the guys there. So no body better get reckless. Now get in your pods and prepare to drop." Tim exclaimed to his squad of ODST's as a warning siren went off and the whole ship rocked. "All of you, to your pods, NOW! We're dropping!"

As Tim rushed to where his own pod was, he realized what the siren was for. Something had scraped into the ship, and it scraped off the portion where his pod was.

Great, this way againTim thought to himself as he sealed his helmet, grabbed his parachute, and prepared to drop the old fashioned way.

Jacob watched as the blip turned and headed towards the SOS signal.

"Why the hell would he do that? He's hidden, and that guy's in plain sight! I'm all for the Leave No Man Behind, but-"

The rest of his sentence was cut off by his pod smashing through a Banshee, making him ricochet next to a Phantom.

"SHIT!"

An explosion rocked the ground from overhead, and Hobbs barely got to saftey before flaming Banshee bits crashed down. Seeing an SOEIV pod crash into a Phantom, he lept towards cover. As the pod hit the ground with a thud, he ran over and pried the shield off. Looking down, he saw a small Spartan in EVA armor. A Spartan III. I can use him.

Jacob was on the verge of a blackout when the front of his pod was ripped off. He couldn't see the figure clearly, but he did see the electric blue behind him. He leaned forward, shoved the figure down, and shot one shot into the Grunt's head with his pistol sidearm before falling over and fainting, thinking "Shit, I hope that's the only Grunt."

Then: "Why didn't my sensors pick up those Covenant?"

Hobbs grabbed the soldier and ran to his hideout, gathering weapons and ammo before jumping into a Warthog LRV. Dropping the SIII inside the passanger seat, he took off towards the SOS beacon.

Tim was rapidly passing through the atmospheric layers when suddenly a phantom appeared directly beneath him. he activated his parachute and tried to steer out of the way, but his speed combined with the size of the phantom meant only a touchdown on it. As Tim peeked inside it, he realized the troop bay was deserted. "Perfect" Tim said while smiling to himself. Releasing his parachute and grabbing his gun, he found the pilot. A few quick shots was all that was needed to take him out. The Phantom veered slightly as the dead pilot released the controls, but Tim got it back under control. Just as a Drop Pod hit the Phantom.
"Hope that wasnt one of my squad" Tim grumbled as he manuevered the Phantom away, looking for some coventant to fool.

Hobbs drove and drove until coming onto the ruins of camp Haverson. Getting out, he activated his beacon, hoping that the Covenant troops were far enough away not to notice.

The EVA armor Jacob was wearing began to wake him up as it sensed the beacon. He sat bolt upright and recited what was now instinct: "Jacob Sven, Spartan III, number 315, Gamma Company!" Then he looked around and saw Hobbs, and silently added, "Shit."

((I changed it to Gamma because I realized Delta was never made. Brain fart on my part; I meant Gamma all along.))

Suddenly the Phantom's scanner pinged.
"Well well well. One of our spartans. better go pick him up" Tim said as the phantom turned and headed towards the beacon, not realizing the error he was making

"You wanna piece?! You wanna piece?!" Dante yelled, hacking through some grunts with her energy. She had her helmet knocked off, baring her teeth in the primal sign of aggression.

Bringing up his Battle rifle to bear, he got 5 headshots, the rest of the grunts fleeing under the fear of more Spartans. "Stand down, soldier. We're here to help."

(Yeah, but we can make it that he was an experiment really early in the was, alright?)

"There they are" Tim said as the beacon grew stronger on the sensors. Then a new signal was picked up. Banshees. Headed to the same place he was. He had been followed.

Jacob crawled out of his seat and looked around, oblivious to the two soldiers standing next to him.

"Shit," he said, "first time planetside in forever. Feels so weird to be back on solid ground."

The beacon grew super strong. The phantom was close enouh Tim could make out the troops armor. A spartan I with Mark IV armor, a Spartan III with standard Spartan III EVA armor, and an ODST. And the banshees probably could see even more than that.
