I'm suggesting this mainly because I'm bringing a friend on the site soon, and I don't want to have to wait for him to make a certain amount of posts before we can talk. But generally it is an inconvinience for newcomers. I also belive that it is just pointless.

I gotta go woth Glitch on this one.

DOWN

DOWN.

For the reasons stated above.

The requirement hinders spambots efforts, and thus, is beneficial.

This is something that will not happen and will never happen. The last thing we need is to give spambots, advertisers and trolls the ability to mass-PM and VM from the moment they register. It isn't hard to work your way up to 10/15 posts.

Yeah, just tell your friend to post in the various "favourite pokemon" or whatever threads in Pokémon World. He'll have enough posts in no time.

Or welcome other new users in the Garden Grotto.

My recommendation is that if you need to talk to your friend, don't wait for them to reach the required post count. You can either e-mail them, call them, message them on an instant messenger, or whatever method you prefer. This policy will almost certainly never be changed simply to avoid getting spambots sending you private messages and making it harder for us to combat.

Yeah, really. I never understood why people who actually knew each other in real life use Bulbagarden to casually communicate with each other. VMs and PMs are better for those who met on Bulbagarden but don't want to share personal information.

Voting DOWN for various reasons already stated.
