I had a spaz thought. There are alot of Admins that haavent contributed in a while, therfore we dont even know if they even log on anymore.May I suggest replace them with more suitable users?I would make a list, But im gonna wait for a response

I don't think there's a limited amount of admin space. If they were reliable once, they'll probably always be reliable.

I was the one who initially mentioned the subject to TTEchidna. Here's the deal; if they haven't made an edit in over a year, they're probably not coming back. If they haven't made an edit since 2006, they're definitely not coming back. If you quit your job, it's not your job anymore. Same goes here.

A lot of them are still active here, though, so we should at least ask them if they still want the job.

Either way, there is no pressing need to "replace" them. We are picking up new admins as time goes on anyway.

But if they havent edited in over a year I dont think they are coming back.Id ask them but Im going away and dont know how to use these forums

Some of them come back. Some guy named Swifty was gone for, like, a year, then made two or three edits one day. Haven't seen him since.

I meant for one of the staff to ask them actually - A lot of the inactive admins are mods here who got the job when the wiki began.

It definately can't hurt to ask them. If any of them say yes, we gain an active member. If not, we don't lose anything.

Do we have a full, non system-generated list of Admins anywhere? The simplest thing to do is make something of the sort, and list off admins there. We can mark off which admins are actually active in that manner.
There's no reason to remove adminship unless they do something wrong; being inactive doesn't suddenly make them untrustworthy with their abilities. But it would be a good idea to mark semi-inactive or inactive admins somewhere were it's easy to see, so when a new user wants to let an admin know something, they don't have to take guesses at which admin would actually answer the question.
http://guildwars.wikia.com/wiki/GuildWiki:Administrator_information is a good example.
http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Guild_Wars_Wiki:List_of_administrators is another good (and very fancy) example. :D

I like that Guild Wars list, it looks great.

Anyway I don't get why these guys who own other sites get to be an admin when they've made well under 100 edits.

That's perfect! I'm surprised I've never seen it before. Shame on me.
I think it would do nicely if we listed status AND availability on that list; just have each admin edit their own entry, list off when they think they're more likely to be online. Makes it simple and friendly for anyone who's in a hurry to get in touch with an admin (short of simply posting on TTE's page, because pretty much everyone has that on their watchlist).

But I must ask, which one? :D They're both Guild Wars wikis.

Unless admins' powers are a security risk, I see no problem in letting them keep their power.

Also, a bunch of people on that list--some of the senior Bulbagarden staff who rarely does the 'pedia thing--really do need powers as a "just in case." I've had to come in and fix up the 'pedia on numerous occasions.
