Replaying - Saving As Much As You Can?

I'm not sure if everyone or many people have thought of it, I ran a search and haven't seen anyone mention it as such. But how many others have considered buying the most useful/expensive items available that your Pokemon can hold, to transfer them over to a fresh game along with the Pokemon holding them, to stock up on items you would like to use, like them to hold or to sell? Of course selling them is a massive step down in money but all that money will be lost anyways when the game is erased.

I usually did this in the past, transfering unique or useful items to another game before erasing the first. By starting over several times, I got multiple copies of TMs and Master Balls. I seldom restart my games now.

I'll never restart X and AS, but if I'd ever get Y and OR I'll treat them as my "secondary version" that I wouldn't mind restarting constantly - this way I can re-enjoy going through the story (since honestly pkmn games are SO boring after you finish the plot... yet I don't wanna lose some achievements that I reached in X/AS, especially X) and also transfer back some rare pkmn/items to my "main versions".
I really wanted to do this but considering I can hardly afford to buy games, if I have the chance to do so, I'd probably rather buy a new game than pretty much buying the same games that I already own.

I used to do this a lot, but nowadays there aren't that many items I'd want to save. Event berries, if I ever had them, and I suppose a Master Ball if I still hadn't used it (Come to think of it, I never do these days), but other than that, no

When TMs weren't reusable I tended to save maybe six of the best

I used to do it for TM's, but since they're reusable now I have no reason to anymore. Starting with X, I've gotten both versions of the new games to transfer version exclusive Pokemon though.

Ah, the good old days of replaying a game specifically for TM moves! I had my Pelipper win every master rank contest in Sapphire, and I have absolutely no idea how much time I sunk into replays of LeafGreen for TM's to teach to him along the way.

You're right though, there's no reason to have a mass item exodus now. Lucky Egg is useless with the abundant experience we get now, and the Master Ball has become useless to me personally because I stopped catching legendary pokemon a long time ago. Except Black 2's Cresselia, but I had a weird emotional attachment to it and treated her well while that save file lasted!
