Ok, so if the original V.As come back the new V.As loose out and if the new V.As keep their current roles the original V.As loose. But, it doesn't have to be that way.

You see if we some how get a big letter/petition/something to show PUSA that both sets can work together than maybe things will work out. If we could atleast persuade them to get both sets working on Pokemon than that's better than nothing at all (yes, even if one set can't do the roles they wished they could have.)

How would they go by doing this? Maybe, we could persuade PUSA to make another Pokemon seires (Mysteries (sp) Dungeon 1/2 anyone?) People seemed to like that anyway and according to some people PUSA does like to aim it at the younger audience. Although, there's other ways on going about this, Mysterys Dungeon was just an example.

What would that do? Easy, PUSA would make more money. And, more money = happier PUSA. I know that wouldn't be everyone's exact plan, but atleast no one would leave empty handed. It's like this; you're at a birthday party and they have your favorite candy, but the down side is you have to stand in line. When you get there your fav. candy is gone. They do have another candy you can have though.

The moral of that story is even if you don't get your fav. it's better than not getting anything at all (which is what would happen if you refused the other candy.) Anybody, get where I'm coming at here?

We ether come together or we'll fall apart. Besides, isn't coming together what Pokemon is really about? So, who's with me on this idea?

Questions

Well this sounds cool so I'll join although I must admit that if two people voice Ash it won't sound right. I probably have the details wrong though.

Well, I'll try to explain it the best way I can. It may not end up with two V.As voicing the same character, Ash for example. That is just one of the ideas we could tell them on "how things may be worked out." Of coarse there are other ideas.

Question: Does Ted Lewis still voice Giovanni? Cause he rocked at it ^^
Ash's Pika Pal said:
Nope, none of the V.As that are still at 4kids that did roles on Pokemon are still on Pokemon. Unless, he some how quit 4kids and suddenly went to TAJ, but that probably didn't happen. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

ideas
Power of Pika's ideas: banners, videos, spread the message through every forum, a site of our own, try to get it in the top Pokemon sites and even a stat count to see how many are visiting (I'm obsessed with those), word of mouth to spreading, if we're looking at a new series we need demand (an audience, consumers to buy merchandise) to convince them.

Have uncut videos for the new V.As and cut for the old or vica versa. That way each set could voice on Pokemon. Also, each version could please both fanbases. Hey, if DBZ had both cut and uncut versions, Pokemon might be able to, too! (Maybe you could put a poll up on Pokemon.com which set should do which.) [His idea/gave the info. is non-quote and I'm talking in quote.]

Shane or a.k.a XD375's ideas/info.: He will probably get Sarah Natochenny's info. page. He also gave a list of names on http://bmgf.bulbagarden.net/showpost.php?p=433322&postcount=9

Ash's Pika Pal's (me) ideas:
Maybe we could somehow get the Japanese Pokemon company to make another series inorder to get both on the series.

PokemonTrainerLisa (PTL)'s ideas
Or, as a suggestion, you might wanna try: airing episodes on TV for the new VAs, and going direct-to-DVD for the original VAs. Of course, doing it that way would mean Pokemon USA would have to dub the episodes twice, meaning it would cost them more money. So it might take some convincing to get them to go that route. But hey, it's worth it.

Killer Weezing's ideas
Which leads me to think in your efforts you can also try to get Maddie to coach Jimmy(I think?) on how to bring out Meowth's character.

Also, are you thinking about spreading ROVA around the forums? The reason I ask is because I personally think that most of the fandom are in exactly the same boat as you are.

I also have another idea. For however long Pokemon is going on do you think that you can have PUSA finish up all of Diamond and Pearl with the new voices, then in the next region switch to the old voices, and then every other season they alternate voices

If I'm missing one of your ideas/info./not said right you think should be posted please do tell! Also, if you want me to add something, go ahead and tell me what I should add!

Things that are going to be done/ in the progress of doing.

Group letter!!!
The group will work on a letter to send to NOA. More on why it's being sent to NOA http://bmgf.bulbagarden.net/showpost.php?p=439450&postcount=29

Someone should type it here so everyone can see it, check for mistakes, and to make sure it's got everything needed.

The deadline is by the end of December/early January!

spread the word!
Killer Weezing is going to post ROVA on other forums.

Anyone's allowed to pick what they think they can do, just tell me in ether pm or on here (if you don't think I noticed, I didn't say anything on it or updated the first post with it tell me in pm).

Neutral People
If you are neutral you may still post here. Please, don't post here to cause trouble though.

Well, well...thanks Ash's Pika Pal! I started a thread like this on another forum to show my neutrality once and I was just shunned, being told SOVA cared for both sets too. I guess I'm not the only one who likes BOTH casts.

It was like...ROVA...Respect Our Voice Actors.

Anyway, I'd obviously gladly join!

So, did you see a recent episode and see improvement or something?

You're welcome. Hey, I like that name better! ROVA. Hm... maybe the mods could change the title of the club.

It's not that. It's just it doesn't seem fair. The original V.As worked hard (they sounded different in the first season, esepecially Ash). But, yet it's not fair to the new V.As. We need a compromise....

Welcome, Shane

I was working on some pages for the said "ROVA" a few months ago, perhaps I'll look for them or redo them?

Ok, that would be great! Thanks Shane. Maybe, we could also make some banners.... I have an idea for a peace banner between the two sides.

I'm sure you know I'm in. Don't know what I'll really do here, but just would like to join. Good job APP for starting this.

Hi
To start things off I like both sets of VA's aswell. I'm probably one of the few Sarah fans. That's probably why I've been protective over her I guess.=)

I got a interesting suggestion. Never actually thought of it before.

You know how there's half the fanbase wanting japanese Music and completely intact and the other wanting more on the dub music (4kids music) but more like 4kids.

What if 2 versions of Pokemon series were made. One straight to DVD that's uncut completely and the other for the ones who want it the way it's been for 8 years.

I'm not sure but if the new VA's were allowed to flourish or interpret the characters in their own way for an uncut version while the old VA's could return to their old position in the cut version. Then it might be a possibility.

I know it's a weird idea. Though it's just something that seems to have come to mind. My brother's been collecting DBZ DVD's. Uncut and cut. Sometimes the VA's sound different between them in the later series. particular characters to be more accurate. Of course it's probably due to VA's leaving but it lead to a new thought.=P

It's probably a silly idea but it seems to be an idea that can have both sets doing the same main roles.

Plus they wouldn't have to make a new series and if the uncut was straight to DVD then it gives PUSA more time to get the japanese music. PUSA's dubbing an episode a week and I feel other than money, time is another factor that causes them to not get the all music. It's actually pretty hard and time consuming to get permission from over seas to get music and torchurous if you've got the music in your hand but you can't use it due to the ones you've asked not answering giving permission. Stares at my half finished production with no music.......=(

It can take longer than a week sometimes to get an answer. So straight to DVD uncut gives more time plus it'd be interesting having both tracks on the same DVd. I'd watch both.:D

So having 2 different versions that actually pleases both halfs of the fanbase may be in order. Though you need a selling point. Uncut with japanese music and extremely accurate translations with the new VA's might work.
The cut version having the old VA's is due to the children who are watching (children like the old VA's) plus parents will probably want their children to continue watching the cut and people who prefer the cut version can watch it. I know the cut and uncut won't be that much different but parents I talked to get this strange fear that anything with the word "uncut" means not suitable for children.

Though of course we could have it the other way around with the VA's (old with uncut and new with cut instead) if you feel that's better.

Though trying to convince them that this is worth a look into is the challenge since it's alot of money to keep all VA's.

Probably a silly idea anyway. Though I just chucked this out as an option. No harm done.=P

I'm looking at what we have already and what possibilities there are that hasn't been done yet.

I like the idea of the second series aswell Ash's Pika pal.
It won't be easy to convince PUSA to do a completely new series since that's japans choice but it's definately something to look into. If someone knows the Japanese address then that can be an option because if a new series were in order they would be first in contact.

Creating a new series costs millions aswell so that's also a challenge. We've got to convince Japan that it would be a hit.

How good is PUSA contacting japan? People have asked them for new series and they say they're not in control of that. That's something we have to work around.

I can help. There's a little tactic called pitching a cartoon in the industry that I might be able to help out with. My first lesson in my course this year aswell.=P

I'm up for the challenge if we go down this direction.=)

Though nothings guaranteed. You just try and hope it works.

I'm just throwing ideas around here aswell.=P

I don't even know if it's possible but I'm game. I'll give it my all.

I'm ready to try and get both sides roles.;)
Keep throwing ideas around. We need banners, videos, spread the message through every forum, a site of our own, try to get it in the top Pokemon sites and even a stat count to see how many are visiting (I'm obsessed with those), word of mouth to spreading, if we're looking at a new series we need demand (an audience, consumers to buy merchandise) to convince them.

We need more people though. Sorry I'm taking over accidently I think I'll stop. This is what happens when I'm passionate about something.^-^;;;;;

Mystery Dungeons a good call since it's proven to be successful to an extent when it comes to new series. Though we can also think of other options for cartoons to try out aswell. Keeping an eye on the fanbase interest at present helps matters.

As my lecturer always says "if you think you can do it, go for it".

I saw 1 group similar to this collapse before. Not going to see it happen again. We can get this off the ground. If this goes a little over a year I might be able to make a simple quick cartoon during christmas. I've already got a massive production on my plate right now so it's very time consuming and I don't have much time to do a quick animation now. Though I know tricks in keeping an animation completely copyright free. It won't be pulled down too fast from video sites. I can assure you of that. It won't be the best but it'll help advertise.=)

EDIT:
Sorry to people who are reading I edited it. wasn't happy entirely with the way I pitched that.
I reorganised and delelted paragraphs of what I said.
I'm a little too excited about it. So forgive my strange overconfidence.

After going through all that. Can I join?
I just jumped in throwing ideas left, right and centre without actually asking if I can join.^-^;;;;;
My mind's running a mile. I'm just throwing everything out on the table. Can't help it either.^-^

Before I forget. I'm actually going in as a worth a try thing. I don't see harm coming from trying to talk to them of options that may or may not be possible.
It's negotiation anyway.

I'm going to go get those old pages I had started working on for ROVA now, okay?

EDIT: http://www.freewebs.com/respectourvoiceactors/

I found this page! I was gonna work on it before but the only purpose it served was a chatbox for the original Pokémon Highway, but even that only lasted about an hour...I'll see if I could find VA lists I made, etc., that may have been uploaded but incomplete.

EDIT2: Dang...all I could find was a very vague list with partially complete HTML...I thought I had started on a page for Sarah Natochenny...

I made this before D/P, so I know we're missing some:

Rikako Aikawa
Carlos Alazraqui
Leah Applebaum
Roxanne Beck, Annie Pondel
Andre Betts (Singer)
Amy Birnbaum
Maddie Blaustein, Madelaine Blaustein, Addie Blaustein, Adam Blaustein

James Tate
Jack Taylor
Veronica Taylor
Cassan Treegill
Andi Whaley
Kerry Alan Williams
Oliver Wyman, Pete Zarustica
Jimmy Zoppi, Billy Beach

This is almost every American voice on Pokémon...and the singers, too! When someone has used more than one name, I've seperated it with a comma. Some of the aliases MAY actually be different people...for instance, I am assuming Roger Kay is Kayzie Rogers for obvious reasons (and her obsession with hiding her name XD)...and some of them may not be aliases, but other voice actors who sounds almost the same...which is unlikely for the most part...

Anyway, I planned to have lists of all the characters they portrayed, and, for the major roles, complete pages about them.

And a page about the VA switch...

But I got caught up with Pokémon Highway and SOVA and Digimon Fever and exams for school and Pokémon Arena and going back to school and talking to people on Pokémon Arena, Pokémon Highway, and Save Sonic's chats, and, more recently Bulbagarden's...

But I'm still sure I had a Sarah page, too...it had my interview on it and everything! Perhaps I never uploaded it and it got deleted with everything else when my brother erased the computer...

EDIT3: Just letting you guys know a page about Sarah Natochenny should be done by tomorrow. Let me know if you wanna make a page on a VA and I'll edit your name into the post.

Power of Pika: That's a great idea! Wait, so the DBZ V.As could do that for both? If so yuo might be on to something.

Hmm.... maybe we could do one of the ideas first and if that fails go to the next one?

I can help. There's a little tactic called pitching a cartoon in the industry that I might be able to help out with. My first lesson in my course this year aswell.=P
That might have to be reminded if we do have to do that idea. Also, someone may have to find that Japanese link he was talking about.

That is wonderfully fine, Power of Pika, I think you're doing just fine. And, yes you're welcome!

Guys, I apolojize if this seems rushed, but I don't want to get too detailed on this tonight because, this opurtunity is too good to rush. If I don't have too much homework tomorrow I'll look into this alot more.

We need to make sure this is planned out carefully and than find out what to tell PUSA. It's better to be slow and steady and get there than rush and mess up.

Shane, I'll look onto what you're talking about tomorrow (so I can grasp what you're saying better and so I don't mess it up). It is best to grasp one part and continue the next tomorrow, so I can understand you both (trying both tonight might be overload). Also, tomorrow I can update the first page with the ideas (I even bolded it, so I wouldn't forget).

Anyways, guys we're getting off at a really good start, keep at it!

Hey! Can I join? This seems like a cool thread! I really want to save the old voice actors!!

Billy Regan is not Jimmy Zoppi. He's an entirely seperate person.

Billy Regan/Bill Timoney (his real name) voiced Dr. Yung, Nando and Dr. Kenzo in the Roark episodes.

Ok, I won't edit my last post, because it might go un noticed. Anyway, Shane is that suppose to say the site is under constriction or something like that? Thanks for the list, we may need it later.... Once, you do put the thing for Sarah I can put it on the first post.

Those are some very good ideas. But, what should be done first? Maybe, we should try the website first of all and a count thingy you were talking about. Than, we can build from that. Maybe we should decide which plan we want to try first.

Yes, cheeseforkids you can join. As long, as you support us you can.

I think the site's a good start.

I might aswell explain my reasoning for a stat counter/ hit counter instead of that I'm obsessed over them.=P
Gives me something to type up anyway. Also a good guide on how to help improve the group and how to use it as a guide when things start going ahead.;)

I like those stat/hit counters because it can give an idea if the site is reaching enough people or not. I was using one on my trade site for fun and experiment a while ago. It's interesting seeing the numbers rise. Though my trade site got lack of visitors. It only got to 67 in count.XD
I think my trades were bad anyway and lack of updating didn't help.

It doesn't guarantee success of course because people could just look and then not be interested but it's good to see how many have had enough interest to just look. Plus how effective the advertising is having on people. The more who look, the more likely for more people to show interest. If not enough are looking then something is wrong.

If the hit counter starts showing signs of slowing down (if you get the number not rising by much but actually the number rising instead started to shrink like you have had 1000 visits with 20 hits weekly and then after those weeks it goes 1020, 1025, 1026 each week, it means less and less new people are looking at it until it slows to a pace of it rising by 1) then it might not be a good thing and needs to be looked into. It can show rising in a sense of if you get 20 hits weekly (it shows this 1020, 1060, 2000) that means your having the impact and more and more people are looking at it. Almost similar to if demand for a product starts great and then starts slowing down or rising. Of course all those numbers are examples since numbers rise differently depending on the amount of people visiting.

You find out approximately whether the campaign to get more people is doing well or had no impact and thus you can decide the next course of action. It's better than running around blindly. That's why I think it's helpful in that way. Especially when starting out. Also when it starts don't be surprised of a slight drop. Like every product out their or new site there will be a boom at first before it levels off, if it's successful that is. When it levels off that's when that should help determine from there whether things are working or not. Of course if the number is as poor as my trade site (not a success at first) then that would mean alot of advertising.=P

The counter is not the most necessary thing for a site but it can be helpful as a guide. It's one thing having the counter but it's another knowing how to use it to your advantage.;)

Though yeah I typed that up partly to do with being bored right now but I think it's good guide on how it help.=P

After a few years of the site being up though I'd expect the numbers to start dropping. Though there's always new people going online all the time and new sites started. So there's plenty to find.

As for plans I'm still thinking about things right now. Though yes I agree that the site should go up first.

Ok, I do have a few questions though.

First, of all will the site and counter cost anything? Also, I may need help a little getting it started and the counter n_n;. You seem like an expert at the counter thing, so that's why I'm asking.

Wait, you also said we could try an get it on the top Pokemon sites. How would we do that?

Top site is another way of seeing how well your sites doing. Pretty much if there's enough people going and compares the traffic against other major sites. There's plenty of them. This is one of them. There are others though. It says it's free and I think you join. I haven't really done a top sites thing myself with any of my sites but I have seen it done with others.
Your site has to do well though. That's why is a nice indication.;)

http://www.ppntop50.com/index.php?a=page&id=faq

Also just type in Pokemon top sites in google and you'll find the rest. There's a lot of Pokemon main sites who seem to run these. Also if your high on the top sites (whatever one you choose) then there's even more chance of attracting people since some people (like me) find it a good way to find more Pokemon sites without going through the whole google. If anyone ever wondered how I found so many Pokemon sites and forums to explore then these are the things I tend to go to and then I just browse through every top ranking site on each top site website.

The stat/hit counter I use has a free service to it aswell as paid services. Though I use the free service.=P

I'm not sure how much it allows in the free account since it's been a while since I used it. You might like to read it and it's okay to try out the free account. It's a start to see if your site is picking up to begin with. If it hits a point where the free service isn't sufficient and we haven't found one better by then it's easy to delete. It's just a code that you recieve from them that you copy and paste and follow the instructions given carefully and that looks like a counter and keeps track when in view. So you'd just delete the code to get rid of it.

here's the site. You might like to read what it offers first though.
http://www.statcounter.com/free_hit_counter.html

There doesn't seem to be a limit in the amount of counts of visitors in the free account, only just the log page which I think is something that just tells you in detail anyway and even then it says something about if that filled up it will just overwrite the oldest. Though I'm still learning about it myself. Just experiment with the free version anyway. I'm still experimenting myself.=P

It's good for getting started with.

I could set a counter up for you guys with my own stat counter account. I can create many projects that can be used on different sites. Though I'd have to post the instructions and the code for you. I'm not sure how well it would work passing on codes but it may work. Never tried it before.=P

Plus it's probably advisable to have the site somewhat finished before setting it up anyway.

Though it's easy to set up the account by yourselves if you want to do that instead. Either way. I don't mind.=)

Since, it's getting late and I'm going to have to go to bed soon I can't look at any of those sites and get a good understanding until tomorrow.

Well, Power of Pika it would be so helpful if you could set up the counter thing. Hm... maybe that could be your part in this for now! That is, of coarse, since it seems like you don't mind.

I'll get to work on the site soon, I just can't do it tonight.

I'll be updating the first post on who's going to do what they think they should do. But, I have to get your say so to make it official. For ex.: when I get Power of Pika's official say so I'll put it up that he's going to do the counter thing. Yes, I know you said you'd do it, Power of Pika, but it's always best to get the official word on it first. Hopefully, that makes sence.

Anyway, anyone's allowed to pick what they think they can do, just tell me in ether pm or on here (if you don't think I noticed, I didn't say anything on it or updated the first post with it tell me in pm).

Yeah it's okay. It only takes 1 minutes to set up anyway.;)

So that's the go ahead.

Now 2 things needed first.
1. What site are you using to set up the site. Is it freewebs, dreamweaver 2, blogger ect.(not sure if I should list all the ones or not) There's many listed there. There's about 21 dfferent ones there. So what are you using to set up the site.
If you know how to work codes and are not using the popular sites to set it up there's that option aswell.=P

2. Once the site is set up properly just put a link directly to it up here like you would if you wanted people to visit just to look. I'll have to copy and paste that aswell into the setup of the counter.

Then it'll track.;)

Practically just need to be clear since I just need to be 100% sure on what's being used.

I'll set up the counter once I am sure on the information and the site link is available to copy and paste into the setup requirements.

Can I join? I know that I'm a leader of SOVA. But I'm also good at multi-tasking, and I think it would be okay for people to be in two different groups.

Um, I don't know how to say this, so I'll just come out and say it....

I want to join ROVA, because I have some "uncertainties" about SOVA actually succeeding (not enough members, people not getting things done, etc).

So this is like, plan B for me. ^_^

And of course, I have other reasons for joining. You see, I want to get the original VAs back (yes). However, at the same time, I feel bad for the new VAs. And some of them, I don't mind, because their version of the character's voice is actually pretty good.

That's why I've been able to tolerate the new voices enough to watch all of Battle Frontier, and enough to continue watching D/P (honestly, would I be watching the Pokemon USA dub at all, if I thought it was a bad show?).

I guess, to put it simply, I'm not neutral about SOVA. But I AM neutral about the new VAs, and the subject of the VA switch in general. Do you understand what I'm saying here?

VA switches are bad, no matter what the circumstances are, because in the end someone has to win and someone has to lose (and the losers get deeply hurt in the process). Not to mention the fandom suffers too, because there's usually an uproar in the fandom causing many people to become angry.

But if somehow, there was a way both sets of VAs could actually work on the Pokemon dub, I would be all for it! You have my full support! :)

And I would still support this cause even if, as as a result of this happening, there would be two different versions of the dub (one version with the original VAs, and another version with the new VAs). Uncut and cut/older audience and younger audience - it wouldn't matter to me which set of VAs gets which version.

Anyway though, so am I in?

Don't worry. I'll understand if you guys don't want me in, considering my huge involvement with SOVA and everything.
