Is anyone else interested in starting Bulbacast up again? I'd be a happy volunteer for any Bulbacast episode, but the recording program I have can only record up to 15 minutes.

Yes!

I would be glad to participate in the Bulbacast again! :-D

Being a main speaker would be awesome! ^^

But, if for some reason I can't be a main speaker, then I'd like to be a guest speaker.

I know Exxthus is interested in doing it when she gets her computer set up. I don't think I'd have the resources to do it, though. Possibly in a couple of months, maybe a year, when I'm set up at uni, I'd be able to join in, but until then I don't think it's feasible.

I'm not entirely sure, to be honest. It'd be fun to listen to everything and all, but I'm already pretty damn shy with speaking as it is. ^_^; If I could work up the ability to speak into microphones over the computer, I'd love to participate. Otherwise I just might go ahead and sit and watch. XD;

I've a microphone, and a recording program that records forever. If one of you can download Aucadity and do editing, I'd love to help with that, so long as I'm not actually doing the editing.

What else do we need?

If it does start up again, yay! However, Kasumi brought up the issue of conflicting scheduals. You'd have to ask in advance, but be flexible in the event that something comes up on the person's end.

If it were Saturday night or something like it was before, I'd be free just about all the time. If Audacity's free, I'll download it and see if I can manage editing, although if somebody could send me some music to use, that'd be great.

I'd probably still be recording if we were to restart the cast, and hopefully PPN would still be editing.

I could help next weekend, or any time after I get back. I may not say much, but it would be fun.

You people have to keep in mind the schedule thing and since we would have PPN and Satoshi-kun doing the editing and recording, we would have to abide to the times they are available.

Also, another thing to keep in mind is that in Bulbacast we used to discuss mainly the latest episodes aired in Japan, so you will have to watch those as well.

I still doubt there will be any returning of the Bulbacast soon though.

Well, it's true that I'm not keen on the Japanese episodes.

But, I'd love to participate in that one part of the cast, where you guys actually discuss the dub version.

Because I watch Pokemon every Saturday, and I could discuss what happens recently in the dub (I won't say anything about VAs though, lol).

...huh?

No episodes are currently being recorded because Sato and PPN's schedules do not allow for it. That's why if we can get secondary individuals to edit and record, we can *gasp* record without them.

Also, what would be the consequences of moving away from an animé centric cast to a more Pokémon centric cast? Talking about the games more often would be nice, and I know there ARE a few TCG minded individuals on Bulbagarden. I know Blackjack and I follow the mangas, and there are bound to be others; I think that's limiting the cast seems silly..

Just my two cents.

It doesn't matter how knowledgeable anyone is about TCG. Its a bore to listen to and just doesn't exactly work on a podcast.

I think people are missing the point. What made the bulbacast so great were the individuals involved in it. The likes of Sato, Kasumi etc etc. The formula worked and for a while was successful. Things changed, schedules became difficult etc etc. I'm sure people here would love to see it return and have ideas on how it could be different and offering their services etc etc etc.

But the people that worked on the bulbacast, clearly feel they have some ownership (one really can't disagree with that either but I'll leave that for others to argue over since naturally everything on BMGF has to be argued to death) and are therefore reluctant to change what made the bulbacast so great etc etc etc.

End of the day. Until those who formerly made the bulbacast are in a position to record the cast again it isn't coming back.

Exactly, I think it would be an insult to both PPN and Satoshi to just ditch their work and put someone else who doesn't have the experience in charge of editing and recording.

I also agree with FP about the TCG thing. No offense to people who like it, but it would be a bit boring listening to a podcast about cards.

As for the games focus, we also focused on the games in the previous casts, but the anime was always our main focus.

I don't mind having spin-off casts necessarily, but we'd be very careful about it, and would want to hear a few example ones first I think.

Please be aware though that the TCG cast would be competing with the Pokégym cast, so you'd have to be top quality to convince us to throw something against them.

Haha, I listen to the Roundtable and I completely forgot about it whilst posting.

You all make valid points, so I'm just going to shush now. :D

ya know if you still wanna do bulbacast, i still have a good connection to host from...
