We've all been to a restaurant and left with some memories, whether ti be a waitress tipping four pints of beer on some poor customer or incredibly badly burnt food served, we all have those events in our life's. In this thread we want to hear your stories from cafes, buffets, restaurants, take-out deliveries and BBQs.

This thread is an all you can eat in restaurant experiences!

Bon appétit

Story about a bakery.

It's a small bakery that has homemade cakes, so I wanted to try one. It is famous on the internet, so I became curious. But with a job in the afternoon, I chose to wait around the opening hour in the morning and just buy some small cakes quickly and share them with co-workers.

Opening hour, 10:00 AM. Okay, fair enough. I arrived around 9:50 AM.

Waited till - seriously - 11:00 AM and still the shop hasn't opened.

And I did check prior to the visit if they had holidays or anything ><

That's disgusting.

When I was 7 this restaurant accidentally gave me alcohol in my drink and...I got drunk and threw up. At 7.

I never understood why people think that a hair is suddenly gross once it leaves someone's head.

I cook for myself all the time at home and even when I find a cat hair or somebody else's hair in there I just pick it out and keep eating.

So one time I was with my family at a Fudruckers and I ordered a buffalo burger. Not like, buffalo sauce, but actual bison mean. Anyways, it was great, except for the fact that the cook had apparently been lazy and only cooked the meat until the outside was brownish. It was still super rare inside. Our waitress, who was probably also the manager, was extremely angry at him and we could hear her chewing him out from all the way across the place. Anyways, we passed by the place a month later and it had been shut down because of sanitation reasons. Their Sunday cook was so terrible he put them out of business when the monthly health inspection came.

At some restaurants, I found few long hairs in fried rice I've ordered, but I removed them myself without the help from others. Many people complaint these because they are lazy, but some are serious issues such as dirty animals in their food. These let me vomit like zombie...

Me and my family went to this one restaurant and we ordered pizza.
10 minutes later...
Our pizza was coming out of the oven( you could see the kitchen in this place) and the pizza drops on the floor.
Then the cooks laughed.
A minute later a waitress said they would make us a new pizza.
A long while later, we get our pizza, and it sucks.
The crust was like a cracker and it was really pricey, and we never went back there again.

I don't think I've ever found a hair in my food, actually. I remember back when I was really little, there was a McDonalds next to my mum's workplace, and that was shut down because of complaints from people finding hairs in their food. It got so common there that they just assumed it was being done on purpose and shut it down.

Okay I got one. After graduating high school, my friend (ex girlfriend actually but we were/are still friends) moved to this really shady area in West Philadelphia. It was all pretty much ghetto row houses, but on the corner across the street there was one Chinese restaurant called the Wonderful Dragon.

This place was about as shady as they come. I think the hours were something like 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM, but after midnight the inside area would close. You had to go around and knock on the back door, and they'd crack it open and hand you your food and you hand them the money. The food was really good though.

I remember going to this tofu soup restaurant in Korea over the Summer, and my and my cousin saw roaches crawling on the walls, and under futons...

Went to American Joe's and ordered a strawberry daquiri for the first time. The waitress didn't ask my for my age and gave me the alcohol version instead of the virgin version( I'm not even an adult yet). Needless to say I drank the whole thing anyways and I think I had a hangover the next morning.

Found the finger part of a plastic glove in my soup. It was in a restaurant somewhere in the North End, I think it's called Pugnax or whatever. BTW, don't go there, 'cause the food's shitty anyways.

On a happy note, when I ordered a dozen oysters in a different restaurant, they gave me 15..
