Do you think that the characters will ever ALL return to the show, for a long time?

I'd like a whole Pokemon Reunion episode or two. And If there was a season with Ash, Brock, Tracey, Misty, May and Dawn all traveling together with their rivals in it too, that would be really cool!

Please don't tell me this idea is stupid, I know, but I would love it.
 
The most you can hope for is another one of those Pallet Town reunion eps.

A problem I noticed is the longer this show goes on, the more major characters it has, the bigger the problem is showcasing them all again. Back in the AG era the only real "former" main characters were Tracey and Misty, and since both live in Kanto its easy to show them at Pallet. But now that you have May, who is constantly traveling, and Max, who is presumedly still in Hoenn, its going to be a lot tougher to bring them all back together.

You can also consider Gary, who has made a comeback in the anime as of late, and there's a possibility of Drew/Harley being shown again with May, if we see Paul after Sinnoh...and then add in all of Dawn's rivals...ugh...way too much.

I can see why the writers have basically ignored a good chunk of older characters since D/P began, there's just too many of them now. A lot of them don't have any more importance to the overall story of Pokemon, so there's no reason to show them anymore.
 
They should at least let Dawn know about May... It's even possible Dawn is a fan of May
It's totally stupid how Ash and Brock remember "Hoenn's Pokéblokes" but forgot who they used to travel with at that region that was doing exactly what Dawn is doing now...
Sadly I think they want to save a mention to a little before May will appear again (and they'll probably will use that half medal to mention her like Misty's lure) and she'll probably appear again only near the Ice Rock for Eevee to evolve... or even worse only at Pallet after Sinnoh (it's really irritating because they could easily do a short 26 episodes series about May in Johto and show just the important things like contests and GF)

And they could make an episode with all of the main characters together between Hoenn/BF but the stupids couldn't let Tracey join the group for a little like Misty (and like said in another thread- Tracey even didn't get any new Pokémon!)

I've said it before and I'll say it again.

Remember the two Hoenn episodes where Misty appeared and Togepi evolved? May and Max both knew EXACTLY who she was, and yet Ash and Brock had NEVER told them about her onscreen.

Just because something happens off-camera doesn't mean that it doesn't happen at all.
 
They did talk about Misty in AG4... and this case is different because May is a also a coordinator and they should show us if Ash and Brock mention her
 
If and when the series finally comes to an end, surely the writers can work something out.

Let's think hypothetically here for a moment....say the end is the Arceus movie.

"Satoshi travels to a city for a new pokemon tournament, and Hikari also participates in a contest there! But, not only has Shinji also appeared at the tournament, so have Shigeru, Kasumi, and Masato! And Shuu, Harley and Haruka are in the contest against Hikari, Naoshi, Nozomi and Kengo!

As our heroes compete in their respective competitions, something evil is lurking. Akagi, the sinister head of the Ginga-Dan, has made a plot to awaken the ultimate pokemon, Aruseus, in the city!

When the Ginga-Dan strikes and Aruseus appears, will the heroes be able to make peace, or will Akagi's plan succeed despite the opposition from our heroes and even their rivals?"

Paul in a movie, being a HERO I would pay to see alone.
 
I personally think that a Dawn vs. May battle could be fun to watch. Plus you'd have Ash struggling to think about who to root for, as opposed to the usual "struggling to think" in general. =P

Does anyone know if this was a dub line? It seems fairly similar to the mention in the 6th movie which was also done by 4kids, who probably had no clue of the writers intentions.
 
I think that they should continue those Pokemon Chronicles, but only do them for Misty, Tracey, Max, May, Gary, and their respective rivals.
 
If EVERYONE bundles up together, it'll be in a campout in the middle of Mirage Island, or something like that

Out of that whole thing there was no mention of Takashi/Brock, is he doing some "stuff" again?

It would be nice to have ALL the big characters return, because the interactions between people like Paul, Drew, and Gary, the arrogant prick rivals, Dawn, May, and Misty, Ash's... not-girlfriends, Brock, Tracey and Max and all there exciting scetching, girl chasing, and nerdy adventures, and Kenny, Zoey, and Harley waving that "flag", contest style. And more Ash and Richie interactions!

Then Team Rockmagaqugaltiet tries to invade all the Professors' lab to get information to awake Arceus, with help from the brian-washed Drake, Cynthia, Steven, and Wallace. And we see Yellow trying to defend Oak, The Orange Crew trying to defend Ivy,Marina, Jimmy and Jackson defending Elm, Brendan and maybe Wally defending Birch, and Barry and Lucas defending Rowan.

Yeah, it all sounds like a lot, Finale Material.
 
It would be so crazy if evryone came back. Maybe they could have May in an add for some kind of universal pokemon coordinating gear or something....
 
Let's look at the statistics, shall we?

Misty left in the second to last ep of Johto, and since then we've gone through 191 episodes of AG + about 50 episodes of D/P so far. And in that span of about 250 episodes altogether....Misty has been in 5 eps.

You could add the 4 Hoso's she got which still only brings her to 9 eps total since she left the show. So during the last 250 episodes of the anime, Misty only appeared 9 times. That's barely anything, which pretty much proves the disconnect between the fandom and the writers intentions. Considering most of those appearances were in early AG, it seems it was a last ditch effort to wrap up loose ends with the character before they decided to only show her for the occasional reunion episodes.

Of course May/Max haven't been seen at all yet and Tracey appeared about...10ish times since he left the show, give or take, which is hardly anything either, but since he's at Oaks lab we always get to see him when we return to Pallet.

So all in all, the writers certainly aren't in a hurry for any of the four. And it oddly looks like Tracey, despite him being probably the least popular of the four, will get more appearances in the future of the anime than the others.
