Event Review League: Season 1

hey folks! just a reminder that this Season will close in a little under 5 days! there's a timer in the main post for anyone really wanting to cut it close.

please be sure to log your reviews and any Seasonal shop purchases for this season before the deadline! this season does include anything from 2022 to now. once we start the new season, you'll be able to log retroactively, but those we'll automatically be considered Lifetime points instead, so you're likely cutting yourself a little short.

in the meantime, keep your eyes peeled for new stuff in just under a week!

Okay okay, slipping in some stuff to try to get to 40 points. Wanted to get to 60, but then I got distracted and demotivated. I probably could, but that's less for next season, and we'll see what surprises that brings.

This should be 3: 1 base, +2 because it's 500 words and the chapter is also over 1000.

I'll spend 20 of my points on a sketch prize, and once these are confirmed (or after I rush more in if this isn't enough), 20 on another sketch.

Review League Season 0 Wrap-Up!

wowow has it been six months already?!

This season was pretty chunky for us--together we read a combined 370k words and wrote over 41k, in 74 reviews! Awesome work, everyone. Some specific shoutouts:

@AetherX was a latecomer to the league, but managed to clinch out a victory with a commanding 170 points, in no small part due to his reviews for the shipping contest and Book Club!

@Welkamo came in a respectable second with 96 points, having touched on a wide range of stories, new and old.

@JollyVG , another Book Club regular, closed us out with a 3rd place finish with 85 points! come back to us please

I'd also like to welcome @RichestAirPirate @System Error @Apopheniac @Catz and @Salmancer for being our newest faces in Season 0. Hoping to see you again in the upcoming season.

And that's a wrap for Season 0! Thank you all for joining us for our trial season. We're excited to keep the ball rolling right into Season 1, which will be our first proper 6 month season and will last until August 31, 2026!

Season 1, Mudsdale's Stamina​

And it's a brand new Season for us! Season 1 will end on August 31 2026 at midnight, so if you're looking to get off to a fresh start, now's your chance! Seasonal Prizes have also been discounted for Season 1, so take a look at the revised shop and see if anything catches your eye.

For Season 1, our theme is Mudsdale's Stamina! Sometimes, you just gotta keep up the momentum with something.
  • This season will last 6 months. For your first review in each month, you can claim an additional +2 points, for a total of an additional +12 points across the Season.
    • Reviews are defined by their time of posting (i.e. if you post a review in July and log it in August, it will count for July).
    • The end of each month is calculated as GMT-8.
The Seasonal Shop will also have two exclusive badges, Ace Mudbray (5 Seasonal Points) and Elite Mudsdale (40 Seasonal Points), available for purchase until the end of the Season.

Finally, there is a new prize category: bribing me! You can spend as many Seasonal points as you want to vote for next Season's Mascot Pokemon. The Pokemon with the most points at the end of the Season will be used as our Mascot (like Mudsdale for this Season), and will be included as a badge for next Season. If you were the sole contributor for a the current Season's Pokemon, you cannot vote for the next Season's Pokemon.

  • Wordcount points formula adjusted--word count is no longer calculated on a per-review basis, but on a season-wide basis (i.e. Review A of 400 words and Review B of 200 words would give 0+1=1 points for wordcount previously; it will now give 600-> 2 points.
  • Comments added to the standard ruleset.
